Advice for getting stainless brake lines to stop leaking at the ABS

Just swapped out the original brake lines on my 2004 K2500 with the Dorman stainless pre-bent ones. Got them all in OK, but am having some issues getting two of the fittings to stop weeping at the ABS unit. The other three do not weep at all. Anyone have any tricks to getting them to stop? I...

    LLY: F*****G brake lines

Well, looked at the Russell website and they list the #672440 kit as the one for 2001 - 2006 Silverado HD's. The picture that I saw on Jegs/Summit shows 5 hoses and that's what is quoted on the Russell website. The picture though doesn't show if they come with new banjo bolts or washers...

    LLY: F*****G brake lines

Not sure if that is the exact same one I saw on Summit / Jegs, but the picture on Amazon only shows the 4 corner hoses (from lines to the calipers). It doesn't include the center one from the rear line to the top of the axle.

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

kid - would love to see your boat with Duramax's running with Tyson's Skater. It's not really an equal comparison, but would sure be neat to see. I know he's been having some issues with the II engines, but hopefully he gets them worked out.

    LLY: F*****G brake lines

Thanks for the link. Don't suppose you know of where to get a hose kit too? I ordered the lines from 1AAuto, but they don't show any brake hoses. Rock Auto has most of the hoses, but they are ~$12 - $15 each. Does anyone make a "kit" for when you end up redoing your brake lines? Summit...

    LLY: F*****G brake lines

Cougar, Where did you order your SS lines from? If I am going to replace them, might as well put in something that isn't gonna rust anymore.

    2009 GMC Acadia timing chains

That is a very nice setup indeed. I would be redneck proud as heck about what you have going there. Chain, check ... 55 gal barrel, check ... jack stands, check .... misc wood / cribbing, check .... no problem :)

    Any turbo ls knowledge?

Read the custom OS upgrade tutorial in the EFI Live documentation folder. It gives you the basics of what "new" tables you have for tuning boosted setups. If you need some help, just post up over on the EFI Live forums. There is some good help on there if you get stuck.

    Distress call from wife..

Buddy of mine had his wife call him late one night (she had his truck, working 2nd shift, getting ready to go home). Said truck won't go ..... ok .... is it in gear?? YES ... ok, give it gas .... nope, still won't go .... ok .... put it in 4WD (it was in 2WD) and give it some more gas ...

Question: Question regarding DDS signal generator

You could try and make one using a 555 timer chip. Google square wave function generator and you should find some stuff. Basic circuit that you can put in a variable resistor to regulate the output frequency. Might also need a voltage divider on the output to regulate the desired square wave...

    B-17 resto

Very cool project. I too love the old war birds. There are not too many around, let alone flying. Here's a link to a B-29 that they are working on getting flying. http://www.b-29doc.com/

Question: ultimate fun car for adult family guy....?

There's one thing that you might be forgetting .... much like your Duramax that is built, you can build up the LS's too. That Z06 might be ok, but if you add a supercharger (or turbocharger) look out. Same thing for the Z28. No, your not gonna get a factory hotrod, but you can build one :).

TSB's for 2.4L Ecotec? Oil consumption

So my Dad's 2012 Equinox has started to have a drinking problem. Around 2 quarts in a little less than 6000 miles. The car has ~60k miles on it now. No hard driving, in fact it's mainly highway miles. I know the early DI 2.4L's had issues, but I thought that the 2012+'s had some of the fixes...

    hard 6.0 tuning question

Not sure if this is the problem or not, but I have read that if you mess up the speedo correction, that it can results in a dead PCM. I "thought" it was just if you entered in zero for the # of pulses per mile, but there might just be a minimum / maximum that if you exceed it, it will also...

The tale of 2 RC/SB Duramaxes

"I'm not sure how it would hold up with a really hot tune or a lot of weight, but his other son has a CC/SB 2006 Duramax truck with Quadrasteer. It's been holding up fine with a tune that is probably low 400 HP to the wheels for about 6 months." What's the trick to making the quadrasteer...

40A IGN A Fuse keeps blowing!

Gotcha .... so the smaller line in my truck goes up toward the drivers side cylinder head and is covered in the black plastic wiring loom. Your wiring loom got rubbed through, and then the wires themselves got rubbed through too?

40A IGN A Fuse keeps blowing!

Could you post a picture of which wiring loom is the one that is rubbing? As a fellow 2004 owner, I'm more than kinda interested in seeing where to check.

Pressure relief valve sound from under the dash

Little more of an update. Did some more internet reading (I know ... dangerous), but a couple posts over on the tahoe forums matches my ABS sensor theory. I also have the right front wheel speed sensor code (yeah - something makes sense). So I started to take it apart, but I could not get the...

Converter lock up WITHOUT a lock up box

Ben, Is it possible to flash in a 2005 LLY TCM OS in a 2004 LB7 truck to try out the TCC locked 5-4 downshift? From what I have read, the G solenoid in LLY is the only difference. My truck being an early 2004, I don't think my tranny has it in there since it's an LB7 and not a 2004.5 LLY...
