Pressure relief valve sound from under the dash

Try pulling the ABS fuse under the hood (60 amp'er I think). When you start the truck, it will chime for about 20-30 seconds ... then finally shut up and leave both the ABS light and Parking Brake lights on. You will not have any ABS obvoiusly, but the truck will work and drive just fine. If...

    Anyone here tune LS motors?

Lean cruise is in all of the LS1B OS's up through about 04 maybe up to 06. It was originally added by the Holden guys down under. Since it's in the base code, GM just turned it off for the north american market. The CAX file is used to turn it back on.

Pressure relief valve sound from under the dash

Quick update - I finally zeroed in on where the sound was coming from. It was the ABS unit. The truck finally threw an ABS code ... this finally clicked in my thick skull, that the onlyu times it was doing it was when the truck was coming to a complete stop. Pulled the ABS fuse and now it no...

    Anyone here tune LS motors?

The main upgrade for a 6L is to turn on "lean cruise". Your 04 should have an OS supported which allows you to turn this function on. The best bet is to do the VE tuning 1st, then dial in the lean cruise. This does require a WB to do. If you don't have a WB, I've done a hack lean cruise...

Question: How much fuel when gauge shows empty?

Even easier way - just run the truck so it's almost out (near E). Hook up EFI LIve and on of the PID's is fuel level sensor voltage. Record this, now fill up truck. The pump readout should be accurate enough to make any changes necessary. Write down how many gallons it took to fill the tank...

Pressure relief valve sound from under the dash

nope - not yet. My dad did pick up a used LB7 the other day, and I plan on taking his for a test drive in the next week or so to see if I hear his or not. I am now fully sensatized to mine, so it shouldn't take long to see if I am just crazy or not. My guess is that his is probably OK, and...

    S10 4.3 swap

Bell housing will be different, but you do have a T5 tranny in there. BTW, you think your 2.5 is slow ... take a 2.2 for a spin :(. I used to have a 91 dime, but it was getting long in the tooth and rusting too badly. Currently rowing a 99' with a 2.2L in there. Man, do I miss my 2.5 and T5...

    Recommendations for a 235/85R16

Finally getting around to buying some new tires and would like to hear some feedback (good or bad) on what you guys have been running for an A/T tire. I have been looking at Goodyears, Michelins and Firestones A/T's. Most of my driving is highway, with snow being a requirement for winter. I...

    10 years in a Duramax

I still have my 2004 LB7. It's been babied most of it's like ... heck, only has like 65k on it. But, I can still relate to how it's part of the family. Most "orindinary people" don't get it, only use true gear heads can appreciate that kind of love.

Pressure relief valve sound from under the dash

Not sure where to put this, but hoping I am not the only one this has happened too. Slow speed driving (think parking lot), when I apply the brakes (slow light brakes, not climbing on them) and turn the steering wheel (slow steering), I hear what sounds like the hydraulic pressure relief...

    New SUV questions.

Understand about not wanting to worry about the rig your wife and kids ride in. That's why my wife has the new one at our house, and my work beater is a '99 S10. I'm not sure how much your gonna be out $$$ wise, but I would think that you should come out pretty close by trading in that Escalde...

    New SUV questions.

My wife has a 2012 Equinox and she likes it. Though with 2 small kids, it does fill up fast. If you want room, I'd stick with a Tahoe. It is small enough that your wife won't feel like she is driving a truck, but still have lots of room for the kids stuff. Combined MPG though will most...

LLY - Issues with V2 licensing and flashing

OK, how about does anyone know which fuses you HAVE TO HAVE plugged in, in order to flash the ECM?

LLY - Issues with V2 licensing and flashing

I am trying hard, but having issues with flashing a 2005 LLY K2500 truck (trying to license it using the Program PCM calibrations flash). I have pulled the standard 4 fuses in the underhood fuse box (TBC Batt, TBC Ignition, Info, Radio), but not luck. Then tried again with pulling those 4...

The Best Damn Garage in Town

I got Smokey's set of books (it's a 3 book set) for Christmas right after it came out. Definately one of the best set of books for a gear head to read (even if you don't like to read :) ). Smokey was WAY ahead of his time. He really "knew" the engines and cars he worked on. And his...

99 S10 .... 2.2L's of pure SLOW. At least it's a 5 spd. Can't imagine how much more gutless it would be with the auto behind it. Oh, and at about ~135k right now.

    Exhaust

I've heard that there can be quite a bit of drone for some reason with an LB7 and no muffler. I only do a little bit of towing, but was thinking of going with a 4" system and no muffler. How bad is the drone without the muffler on an LB7 truck (CCSB if it matters). BTW - I typically like loud...
