    Dragging brakes

I have a 2004 K2500 with around 105,000 miles on it. A couple years ago my rear calipers would not release. So much so that it wore the inner pads down to nothing. I replaced those with reman calipers and that seemed to fix the problem. I have also already put in new brake lines and hoses...

    DIY Battery Desulfator

This is probably a dumb question, but I found an old battery charger (12 V, 1 amp) which when I opened it up only had a transformer and a resistor inside. I'm guessing that this would not work for what you have shown??? It also makes me wonder if since it is just a simple transformer, if it...

    Race Truck Battery/Batteries

Neat idea on the DIY battery minder/charger. Do you have any recommended part number(s) for the bridge rectifier or which power supplies to use? I would like to try and make some up for all the battery powered vehicles we have around.

Help! Broke off part of LB7 glow plug

A quick updated on how things turned out. First off, thanks for those who said patience and yes, it can be done. Second, the main tool that you should get is the air hammer 3/8 drive tool that Merchant or others sell on-line. What worked for me was soaking the glow plugs and heat. By...

Any issues with new GM CUV's?

Kyle, Thanks for your reply. It looks like the Equinox only gets the 1.5 turbo engine these days. Are those having any of the high oil consumption issues that the older 2.4 DI engine do? It bugs me that my 2012 with the 2.4 DI engine still uses around 1 quart every ~2000 miles (it has...

Any issues with new GM CUV's?

Looking at replacing the wifes 2012 Equinox and was looking at the options. So far split between just getting a new Equinox, or going to a Blazer. The current Equinox has been pretty good, but not real happy about the oil consumption of the 2.4L (known issue). I have also had to replace both...

Anyone swapped in GM stock replacement fuel lines?

So I started to replace my fuel lines with the Dorman kit. Looked good, but didn't fit very well. Worst part was that the return line was about 1.5" too short up at the engine. So, I am sending those back, and was looking at just using the stock GM kit. Main issue I see is that the GM kit is...

Help! Broke off part of LB7 glow plug

Appreciate the feed back, but was hoping for better news. Sounds like using the air hammer extension is supposed to be the recommended method, but wasn't sure if others had any luck doing it. Any hopeful results are welcome at this point. I am really not wanting to have to pull the heads is...

Help! Broke off part of LB7 glow plug

Forgot to add, that I tried to get on it to weld a 5/16 nut to it but there isn't much standing proud. Is it time to start drilling it out? Some have shared that some plugs get frozen in there and really can't be drilled out, so just leave it.

Help! Broke off part of LB7 glow plug

Long story short, ended up breaking the glow plug strap right next to the power wire. Decided that I better get that fixed. Went to remove the glow plug nut, and it snapped off. Went to the next glow plug nut and it moved a little, then it snapped the lead inside the glow plug. I have been...

Dorman Stainless Steel Fuel Lines Kit

Thanks for the replies. I was wondering about the comment of kinked hoses. Are you saying that they are just easier to kink, or that after you installed them they could kink?

Dorman Stainless Steel Fuel Lines Kit

Getting ready to re-do my fuel lines and noticed that the Dorman stainless steel kit is only like $40 more than the GM one. Has anyone used / installed the Dorman kit on their truck? How well did it fit / work?

    Oil cooling

I am working on putting together an LB7 kit for my truck but was wondering if this where guys are getting the Mocal sandwich oil cooler adapter these days? https://www.improvedracing.com/mocal-universal-thermostatic-sandwich-plate.html I tried the old race parts link, but it didn't work...

Does the L5P lift pump work in LB7 fuel tank?

L5P, sorry brain fade on that one. Also wasn't sure what kind of pressures that pump was putting out. 55 psi would be way too high.

Does the L5P lift pump work in LB7 fuel tank?

Looking at re-doing my old fuel lines and was hoping to add in an electric lift pump to my 04 LB7. I have seen the Fleece unit and it looks very nice, but a little more than I would like to spend. Got to thinking about if one of the stock GM lift pumps from a 2017+ truck might work. Was also...

2002 LB7 Fuel Leak by Cooler

If you could find a link to the tubes that would be great. Replacing the hole cooler is over $100.

2002 LB7 Fuel Leak by Cooler

So I looked at my 04 and noticed some pretty crusty connections down at the fuel cooler end. I am wondering how guys are either fixing those ends, or are they just replacing the cooler?

    High engine temps

Not to derail this thread, but getting ready to swap the theromostats on my LB7 and was wondering if you needed to replace the housing gasket, or is it re-usable?

    Suspensión replacement

I guess I add to this discussion some more questions. Looking at replacing the ball joints in my 04 K2500. I have to confess, that early on, I messed up and over greased the ball joints on this truck. Pretty much all of them burst open. I had been used to greasing the front end until a...

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

Talking about lubricity (or the lack there of) in diesel fuel, is there any thought to just adding in 2 cycle oil like those of us still running the old LB7 injectors? I'm not sure where it would stack up against other additives or how much it would help a CP3 pump at high RPM, but I know it...
