Couple new additions to my LBZ

That's awesome to know. Exactly the setup I'm looking for. I have the bag number if you're interested to see what the specs are, might be more travel than yours and has an internal bumper stop. I'm hoping to get mine bagged in the rear in the summer before labor day.

Steering box leaking and lack of options

I may have been mistaken for another model, probably the mid 90s that had the bushings. I figured GM was still using bushings because my last few gear boxes had too much play at the output shaft which indicated me as bushing wearing out. Needle bearings barely wear out. If the gearbox already...

    II Truck Wrecked

If you're going to do some retarded driving, at least do it out of the town! Pure stupidity as everyone else stated for sure. The important part is no one got hurt. I don't think he should be getting another truck with that much power, it shows he doesn't have responsibility to drive one.

Steering box leaking and lack of options

That's one of the several reason I like about the red head, sensitive steering on a huge tire. Right now, mine has a little slop due to the last steering upgrade piece I need to do, the idler arm & support. I like the fact that they use needle bearings instead of bushing to increase the life of...

Steering box leaking and lack of options

All reman boxes are junk. I put a red head on mine last year and its been holding up stronger than any reman boxes. 15k miles with alot of abuse and still holding strong, no slop or any signs of oil weep. I'd say redhead corrected their issues.

    HEUI to common rail?

I do not like the 3126 or the c7. I've done my shares of replacing the engines due to broken rings under heavy load. C7 had one too many injector and pump issues. I would prefer to stick a c9 in that and be done with.

    Suspension help needed

Take a pic of the subframe. Was it hit on the wheel? Also measure the frame to the outer part of the fender and make sure they are even to rule out the frame isn't tweaked, regardless of it being checked out by the body shop. Something is definitely binding your left front to cause that many...

    Suspension help needed

What kind of accident was it? Maybe the cab is tweaked off the side? The RCD is a pretty stout suspension, I've hit rocks multiple times and its still straight as an arrow.

Couple new additions to my LBZ

I found the right bag to use. James has the part number, its probably smaller than yours but has 13.5" of travel. The only thing I need us how to set the links up. Is your links articulate enough for off-road, like flexing over big rocks in the trails but still function like a desert prerunner?

    Allison 5sp: 1st gear weirdness

Check the rear driveshaft yoke to the transfer case spline. It might be sticking and worn out.

    Gettin hood ready for paint

It's a good quality lift. No issues with it, besides the sway bar link. I replaced the link with a cognito bec the RCD keeps breaking when flexing the crap out of it.

    Gettin hood ready for paint

How was the quality of the Amerihood? I see those all over ebay and was very skeptical about the quality vs keystone and suncoast hood. $500 is very cheap for that hood and seemed too good to be true for an USA made hood. I do like the look and thought about putting it on mine but quality is my...

    37" tire suggestions

I'd have to disagree with you on the mud part. The Toyo has a better tread pattern than the Trail grappler does to perform in the mud. The trail grappler is rated to do well in the mud, but it did not to my experience. I didn't try it once but multiple times in different conditions. The worst...

    37" tire suggestions

I rotate my tires every oil change (5-7k) and they do wear pretty well for highway manners, I've done enough burnouts with it and they're good on the street. Not too loud at all, but it does get louder when the tires wear down alot. It sucks in the mud though, worst mud tire I've ever had, I've...

    37" tire suggestions

I'm due for a new set of tires in the spring. Currently I have the Nitto Trail Grappler. I'm not quite impressed with the tire, it handles okay in the snow but it is a joke in the mud, it got me stuck easily and would not clean out the treads which took me 10 hours to get it out. Highway driving...

Installed EBay grille insert, what do you think?

I didn't think it would be a clear visible through the grille with that mesh. It does look good though. If the mesh holes were smaller, I think it would look better and less visibility of the radiator, condenser, etc. Do they offer something like that?

    Lift kits opinions

You will clear just fine with that setup, I have 4.5" bs and 0 offset. You will have rubbing issues with the stock front fender at full lock or flexing. Mine doesn't because of my fiberglass fender, just a little at full lock while flexing from the pinch weld part that I need to shave off.

    Lift kits opinions

On a 4-6" lift, 0 offset wheel will fit 37s. I have 37s on my 6" RCD lift. However, I opened up my front wheel wells much more by putting on front fiberglass fenders. One disadvantage with 37s is when towing heavy, the tires will rub on the bedsides unless you open up the bedside wheel wells more.
