Any input on S484/96 1.32 twined with a cheetah 68/71vgt

Well absolutely. I saw you were into drag racing and assumed it was a race only application. If you are driving it on the street I am sure it will be great. I misunderstood your intention. I had a vgt compoud setup s482/71mm with 45% overs. It had some high drive pressure and I eventually...

Any input on S484/96 1.32 twined with a cheetah 68/71vgt

The vgt exhaust side is going to be your choking point. You have plenty of compressor. If you are just racing I would consider an s400 in the valley and a wastegate

The 20-20 Tow Tune, a tutorial:

Like many new calibrations the lml has multiple modes of operation. You will need to make a change in each mode and drive it and log it. Than define what that mode is. That takes a long time and patience. I don't think anyone is going to give that work away, but you can certainly start a thread...

Any input on S484/96 1.32 twined with a cheetah 68/71vgt

I would prefer an inconel turbine to a billet steel turbine are you sure about the material used? The 84mm wheel is a good wheel, I have seen it used as a clipped 3.0 wheel. The backside is pretty impressive. I think you will need more fuel.

Got a 3 phase electrical question

Is this a 12 wire motor or a 9 wire motor?

Got a 3 phase electrical question

You could check with the local electric motor shop. If the motor has 6 windings inside you may be able to rewire it so that its 2 sets of 3 or even just one winding for 240 with a single tapped ground, versus 3 set of 2 @208 or 460 or whatever. I have gotten into this before and its always...

    Valve springs

I do and he does have arguable the fastest dmax powered truck in the country. I also hang out with Dimitri the most powerful dmax in the world arguable. Is that a bad thing?

    Valve springs

I should not have said that Zak. I upgrade them because I have seen them pull through. But I understand they are intended to reduce valvetrain mass. I have my reservations about how important that is in our duramax but yes I should have said that is why upgrade and not that is the only reason...

    Valve springs

Dale, I understand the principle of the lighter weight and low inertia. It is great in a 16000 rpm road race motorcycle engine I used to build and race 15 years ago. In a 5500 rpm diesel I am not convinced the benefit is as great as the velocity of the valve tip is not that fast. Kenitic energy...

    Wtf?!?!

lbz is a moderator, he would delete it if you asked or hide it until you get a definite answer. No need to apologize I was making suggestions of how to handle things with respect and fairness.

    Wtf?!?!

The thing about a turbo is they are easy to destroy. One boost leak, any oil contaminates, even bad tuning will take them out. If there is a problem they will usually fail quickly. An imbalance can be caused by debris hitting the turbine etc. The only turbo that can be warranty is on a stock...

tj's is good though, and he does great on dodge too. My point was I think if you are starting up thinking that there is not any competition than you may find out otherwise. There is a lot of work, but so many guys will read stuff on a forum and do it themselves. And the forums are great...

Craig at mpd Mike at hollyrock bobby at backyard 301 diesel in gaithersburg Trust me there are plenty around us, and plenty of work. Don't let that detour you. And do not get caught up in who's going where to get work done. sometimes you will be too busy or someone else will. Just do your...

    Valve springs

I understand how a lighter retainer would reduce the inertia and aid in valve spring return speed. I have seen valve stems pull through retainers with upgraded springs. I have not personally seen upgraded valve springs float with steel retainers. I do however agree that there is a rational...

    Wtf?!?!

Is there anything wrong with the product? And why post if you are not sure, that is a substantially allegation to make and I would expect you to be sure. The company could actually sue you for libel if you are wrong. I have always been happy with the service and parts, Jose is a great guy to...

Give them a try, I would upgrade the retainers though.

    Valve springs

The valve springs are upgraded to handle higher boost/drive or lift and engine speed. Or to match a cam. The rest of the valve train is there to support that modification. Not the other way around as you suggested. Why would you upgrade retainers to decrease spring seat pressure? Or...
