Junkyard motor and eBay turbo
Edit: it's actually an s476 now but he was running an eBay turbo and making 10 second passes.
I have installed every exhaust and the MF is the easiest. The hardest part is cutting the pipe shorter for a short bed. I have it on my truck and love it.
I can't answer for sure but the gas a diesel sending units are nearly identical if not exactly. As long as you can plug in the 1/2" supply and 3/8" return.
Oh wow. I understand. Rock auto lists 2 for the 2007 classic and one for the 2006 year model. I would purchase the one that is listed for both year model trucks because they are identical. It's $192
The sending unit has nothing to do with the pickup assembly. Go on rock auto and order the sending unit for ~$60. It just clips on the side of the basket.
Why would a guy who makes money on building engines tell you how to keep the engine together? Or for that matter why would he support a product that is going to fix a known issue with the Duramax engine that is going to make him lose business because far fewer if any cranks will be breaking...
Fair enough. My reference of the gm tech doing the job was just to say that it wasn't Joe blow doing the work but rather somebody that actually know their way around a dmax. But I agree, the RIGHT way is to pull the trans. The customer didn't want to though.
