So I'm about to order a 5" dp back exhaust and I was informed that the first pipe back, after the dp, is only 4" on all 5" kits. The guy went on to say that because of the front cross member, a 5" pipe would have to be custom fabbed. Well, I want 5"! So, does anybody know if any companies make said 5" cat delete pipe that will bolt up to an MBRP 3"DP?(still running stock turbo:() Or do I have to find a shop?

If you want I will take a picture tomorrow when it is light, I can slide a butter knife blade between the cross member and the pipe lol Its tight but it does fit. And it is 5" all the way up to the 90* bend at the downpipe flange.

My 4" is too close for my taste. When I used band clamps and a piece of 3.5" pipe to delete my cat when I first got the truck it sagged a little and got into that cross member. It annoyed the hell out of me.

Its a damn close fit but it does fit.

The first pic is where it isn't 5" where it bolts to the downpipe but its only about 4" long until it goes to 5".

I did a lot of research and found the MF was more 5" up front then other kits were. Since I was upgrading from a mbrp 4" I wanted it to be the last exhaust I ever bought and it fit absolutely amazing even considering it was a 5".

It wasn't hard but it took several hours, I planned a whole day just incase and soaked some of the bolts in pb blaster the day before.

Having flex head ratcheting wrenches and a flex head ratchet made a world of difference for me as well as a cheater pipe on the end of my ratchet for two of the bolts.

When installing new exhaust brush a little never-seize on the all the joints, nuts, bolts, clamps, makes final adjusting easy and you get evenly torqued clamps and joints. Mine has been on 6 months has not moved, only to adjust the rear section behind the wheel, just cant seem to get it to look right but I'll live with it.....:thumb:

I have installed every exhaust and the MF is the easiest. The hardest part is cutting the pipe shorter for a short bed. I have it on my truck and love it.

Was that an extended cab you had to cut it? Mine was all bolt in on my crew cab shortbed
