Not that I am trying to be a complete assclown, but arent you 16yrs old? I would like to think PPE would see it wise to be represented here by someone with more intimate knowledge of their parts and systems. Maybe an engineer perhaps?

I work alongside dan every day....I think I have a decent knowledge of their parts. I bet I have more experience with the duramax than you do even being 17 ;)

I bet he has been into and knows more than you think..... Age has nothing to do with it. Its the desire to "know"...:thumb:

Only issues i had and dan says will be take care of was missing Parts in the kit (inlets fitting bolts for the bracket and new idler ) the belt hasnt jumped or anything like that just squeals well more lke a squeak around 1400-1700 rpm but i will say i have had some others at ppe who are worthless for helping a person out

Also the squeak sound i think might be coming from one of my idlers not the kit itself

Never said he was, I've heard lots about him. His kit worked and was inexpensive. That's all.

Is it true that PPE now makes their own manifolds after buying ricks and reselling them for years?? None the less he has that market wrapped up, his knowledge when building headers, and desigining manifolds is second to none, cant beat his experience and customer service.

Also do you guys make the high pressure line in house? Just a question, but if all the parts are made in house, why are you guys so against selling pieces of the kit... or used to be anyways, like just the line, bracket, box ect... If the parts are made in house, they should all be readily availiable.

I would say you guys with PPE problems need to consult PPE over the phone, via PM's or email just before slamming them on the net. If you have a problem with PPE please start a new thead if nothing else and not smoke up this thread with your personal problems! Thanks, Eric

Your a true piece of crap! Such a hypocrite!

Take your own advise.......Thanks Wade......:roflmao:

i dont have much to add about dual fuelers at all, but if you are shredding belts, put an OEM tensioner on. i had problems shredding belts at high rpm's for months....went through 3 napa/autozone brand tensioners and 2 sets of idlers before i broke down and dropped the $$$ at GM for an OEM tensioner.......havent had an issue since. So it might be worth a try to just put a OEM tensioner on. it fixed all my problems
X2!
Your tensioner is weak. Ive done the "lose brakes/steering" at the end of the track due to a shredded belt on an old tensioner/idlers. Boy, is THAT fun.
IMO, even new tensioners can have springs too weak to hold the belts tight at higher rpms.
I may not have dual CP3s, but I can tell you that my belt moves 1-2 ribs every run down the track. Its the first thing I check when I get back to the pits. So yes, it can and does happen.

....not that any of that can help you with the PPE issues, but I thought it may be of interest.

Good info Thanks!

i had to do the same thing till i got an OEM tensioner.

:thumb:

OEM tensioners may be tighter than the majority of aftermarket tensioners, but not one of them. The Dayco auto-adjusting tensioner is an expensive piece but it has solved the belt issues on a few trucks that I know of, one being Dylan's (you remember him right Dan?) before he even put on the junky Dual CP3 kit he had belt issues during hard acceleration. He went through oem tensioners, and aftermarket alike and couldn't solve it, he found this Dayco one and it has been great ever since. After running dual CP3's he still hasnt lost a belt yet, but we have had issues with the PPE kit as have some of our friends, and we have had words with Dan. I don't know who makes a better kit these days, all companies are making them cheaper and care less and less about each customer, but I have become a proponent of "if you want it done right, sometimes you gotta do it yourself."
I have to disagree with your comment about customer service, but that in MY opinon. We/I am here to help, if you would let us.
So it seems like adding a 2nd cp3 is kind of hit or miss as far as getting a good kit or not? Would it be more beneficial doing a single cp3 that is say 100% over or so? Or would you still fight the belt issues at higher rpms?

I have to disagree, The fit on our kit is great! The reliability of two stock pumps (or slightly modified) out ways the little cost difference there is with single modded cp3's.

Exactly! I want to know why something that costs 2k has to be "shimmed "get anyways. Are they just that damn lazy that they can't just make the bracket right to start with

When the kits were originally released the shim/washer was left out of the parts list and instructions. It was not an afterthought, it is the way the kit was designed. This has been fixed for a few years now and ALL kits come with them..

Well ill be buying a PPE kit for my truck. wont be running over 3600rpm, have the original GM tentioner and idler with 165k and jsut have something against purple stuff on a black truck :D. guess we will see what happens. if the kit needs "massaging" or fixing i dont really care, knowing i have two stock pumps that will last a long time are what i care about. I jsut dont see the longevity of a big modded pump lasting the time frame id like

Install the kit, verify the alignment and your set!!! You should have not issues, But if you do I am here to assist!

that's only the beginning. Helpful tech support can only come from someone who understands every aspect of the vehicle and how the product works alone, then in conjunction with the vehicle as a whole. If someone was to suggest to you that the reason your Dual Fueler control box maxes out rail pressure, on its own, when plugged in, BECAUSE OF TUNING....would you believe him?

I'm am sorry you are 100% incorrect, I have PERSONALLY fixed a few tunes that had high rail pressure issues (not our tunes), for FREE! Just to Help the customer out. This was not our fault but the fault of the tune, So I offered my help for free... Guess what it fixed it! I and did not have to send out one part.

another issue some have had is bad fan clutch pulleys. they wear out too, and are often overlooked. alternators- the same thing.

good point!

no if they did they may have a clue on how to fix it...

Im not saying you dont, it is very possible, but so far nobody representing PPE has helped their customers with this issue at hand

Again you are wrong! I help so many people per day its SICK. Most of the time its needing help with another manufactures product. But again it is all dependent upon the customers attitude.

By the way we tested that controller on a 3rd truck and it passed with flying colors. We even ran it on the dyno and varying throttle positions for over 1.5hrs... I guess you found you tune/install/connection issue, happy to hear it...:thumb:

That's it, I was going to say that CP3.4 unit, but couldn't remember for sure.

So, do you know if he ever tried it out? If he did, do you know the results?

The results were he switched to Dual CP3's....

Try Nathan at MPI. Not quite the end all of kits, but pretty darn close. Uses a VERY smart belt routing with no need for half ass oil fillers. The only thing I needed was a larger idler pulley on the tensioner as my ATI damper is smaller than stock.

The only problem with a big single is the internal pressure get real high and sometimes the pumps will grenade.

The current manifolds in the market place had room for improvements.

Garrett and PPE Co-designed the highest flowing cast manifolds to maximize airflow to their turbochargers for big power numbers and efficiency. These manifolds were designed from the ground up with Garrett's Proprietary air flow and heat cycling software by Garretts engineering team to optimize overall flow and reliably. With the utilization of superior casting materials for extreme temps and pressure's (+300 degrees over any cast manifolds on the market today). PPE again brings performance to "next level".
