That's a good idea. I have a fass pump in the mail right now and I may give this a try. At least it would be a good back-up plan.

i think: (not always a good thing)
that as long as there was a one-way valve before the T, the supply would act as a suction for the return.....not sure if that is good or bad

Thanks!The fuel gets sucked from the bottom of the tank instead of up a straw. Gravity is always your friend.
Ok but other than that are there any other benefits to it. I believe that somebody earlier said something about being able to fill the tank to 25.3 gallons as opposed to around 20 if so then I’ll buy one if I get more accurate readings on when to get fuel. Once again thanks just trying to learn why it seems like everybody is buying it.

IMOP it is a peice for guys looking to get the best fuel supply ( quantity ) they can get . I have no reason to believe it will let you fill your tank with any more fuel and I owned one . It will cure any issues with running at less than 1/4 tank and sucking air though .
I guess what I'm trying to say is my fuel tank is a 26 gallons and when the fuel light comes on and I go to fill her up it will only take 20 gallons so I know that there is roughly 6 gallons left in the tank but if am out with the wife she freaks if I don't pull over right away to get fuel but I tell her I got plenty. Just thought maybe this would somehow help give a more accurate reading. Thanks! Sorry to get off topic.

No it won't change the reading what they where saying is you can get every last drop out of the tank. Would you rather the light come on right before you run out? Every GM I have ever owned the light comes on with a least 4 gal left.

No I don't want the light to come on right before I run out but it's kind of silly that it tells me to get fuel when I still have just a tink over 23% (6 gallons) of fuel still left in the tank. Now I do know that it’s not good to run out of fuel in a diesel but maybe the light could be set up for more like 8% left in the tank.
Does your DIC tell you that you have 400+ miles when you fill up but the best you can get is 330 if so then I guess mine is normal to be off a 100 miles or perhaps when I bought the truck it had a 6" lift with 35s and that is throwing it off but there’s no way to fix it. Because I bought a Truespeed Calibrator thinking it would also fix my light and miles adjustments but it didn't.
If all the sump does is get every drop Dozerboy then what would be the purpose of that? What's wrong with the 4 gallons thats left over you'll just go to fill up and be on your way. I just thought it would fix my problem with the DIC somehow because it drives me crazy. My bad!

Do you mean like the one i run ( hellman unit) or something different ? or do you meen a actual sump pump inside the tank ?
how many inches does that sump sit below the stock tank
my guess would be 2 1/2 "
I daily drove with it , no problem at all , but if you off road I would not recommend it , a guy could get a high pressure type 1/2" hydrolic line made to go from the sump to the lift pump though and it would take allot of abused to damage it .
