We had a tractor get sugared before and it muffed up the usual damage, injector pump, lines and injectors, and once ya get it done to ya once you always worry about it, an airdog was the first thing I did to my dodge I had before my chevy because of it, and I now have one on my chevy, and I just always wondered if it was truly enough protection

no, I talked to Merchant Automotive because I know he has a machine to do it but he won't get back to me about it so I guess he won't be making them..
Just a thought man most heavy truck parts places have CAT brand filters. That's where I bought my last ones.

josh, did a little research and came up with the 1R-0770 being a radial fuel water seperator from cat with a 98% efficiency at 10micron but it has a 1"-14 thread which puts it with he same mount as the 1R0749 2 micron filter. Quite a bit larger than the airdog...

Hey I just happened to run across a filter that is interchangle with the 1r-0750 that if a fuel filter/water seperator but I dont know what it filters down to. The part# 175-2949. I hope this is helpful in your search, please let me know.
That still has 1" threads which is fine for a remote mount but will not fit directly on the AD itself. I'll keep looking in my spare time, good find though!!

Has any one looked at using a "DONALDSON fuel filter P551315" on the airdog 2? I checked the web site for the P551315 and compared the measurement to the cat 1r0751. The donaldson was smaller diameter and might fit with no modifications. The P551315 ratings are 3micron with 99% efficient.
I just put my airdog on so I won't need to change filters for awhile. When I do I will try the P551315 filter I think 3micron @99% is better than 2micron @ 50%

Like 1low said, the donaldson is still bigger in diameter than stock. If you are going to go that far you might as well run the cat filter

I wrapped a little electrical tape around the teeth of some vice clamps and used them to squeeze the lines off temporarily

You can always go to the hardware store and get a brass shutoff valve and splice it into the fuel line between the tank and the pump. I had to shorten my AD lines anyway so I figured why not just put that valve in place of the splice? Makes changing filters so much cleaner.:thumb:
