    What does everyone use as a fuel addative?

    Once a month I throw a dose of power service in. Have tried red line before and while it works good, no one around me carries it, so back to power service. Might try 2-stroke when the weather warms up.

    What is the Micron rating on the Amsoil oil filter? Me; ACDelco/Wix/Racor fuel filters. ACDelco/Wix/K&N oil filters. Allison transmission filters only.

    How long are your batteries lasting?

    Holy crap indeed. IIRC it also takes 600ish amps to spin the starter motor.... add it all up and its a tall order, even for two batteries. Looks like I will be buying myself an early christmas present. :(

    Ok, this morning was scary. 30* outside here, went to start the truck up and the glow plug light came on, but nothing else. :confused: Took the key out and tried again, truck started, but cranked slowly.

    5 mpg while towing 14K? That is pretty bad. I averaged 13mpg pulling 13K on a recent trip to VT and back.

    Thank you everyone for the replies. I guess the question I am asking is how do I know whether or not to replace mine? I'd hate to waste the money, but I dont want to be left stranded. :confused:

    On a side note, does the LB7 have an intake heater? I thought it was only the LLY and up.

    Thanks for the info Tom. Luckily I havent had any of those problems yet. I think I am going to buy new batteries for her in the next few weeks, I dont want to risk not starting in the cold. Thanks everyone for the replies. :hug:

    Since this only started since its been getting cold here, its safe to say the batteries are on borrowed time? Tom, besides the obvious, what are the low voltage signs you are talking about? Thank you everyone!

    How long do you guys usually get on a set of batteries? The ones in my 03' are the factory originals. The indicators are both green, and load tested they are still putting out 12.6 volts, but immediately after starting the truck the volt guage shows 9 volts and stays there for a minute or so...

    I meant the cost of Wix making the filter. I'd be willing to bet the metal filters cost more to make. :beer

    Agreed. If its all of a sudden then theres a problem. Any oil in the cooling system?
