    Supposed to be, but have not pulled a valve or done a comparison. That is yet to come. May not happen until the next project is complete and on the track. Gonna push the thing off in a corner and forget about it for a while. Just sickening the more it's pulled to pieces.

    Here is a picture showing the depth of the typical piston marks in the heads. Protrusion is pretty bad. We are trying to get an accurate protrusion measurement but, most of the material has been beat away.

    Here is a picture showing two .030" feeler gauges in the piston to bore gape. At the moment, this is the best picture showing piston protrusion.

    Here is the only groove, just what the gasket has pressed into the head. No groove in the block. Also notice the area where the piston has hammered the head. Head material is being beat off and planted around the area. The area that has been hammered into head is 10 to 15 thousandths deep...

    That's right, the injectors are bad, to a point. As stated in an earlier thread. Yes, Curtis did the build. Mahle pistons but I'm sure they would have been fitted. Milling the pistons will be the only option with the gaskets available. These were gas lock gaskets of sorts, I think?

    If the PPE tune is loaded into the ecm, do a read with EFILive and once complete save it as PPE tune.

    Problems may arise with wrist pin bushings, piston integrity and so on. I don't know Simon, do you think a gasket will fix it? What is the thickest gasket available? With the clearance issue and all the other past thread mentions, the confidence level is not there. It will take someone...

    Looking at the valve relief on the number 7 piston, to me it seems the valve was being touched. :confused:

    Yes, you are wrong. But, I'm sure he wishes he had of. A thicker gasket? Yes, by at least 28 thousandths.

    The planned compression ratio and all the work surrounding even this minor detail was in vein...... The 14.5 to 1 may vary well been 15.5 and so....
