    LMM: Wheel/Tire combo?

Sounds like you need to find a guy, kid, whatever that enjoys watching you race. You pay his way into the track and have him change your tires. Except saying you don't have time to change tires, I see nothing that doesn't line up with what I recommended. It's like you said all in one sentence...

LB7: White smoke after injectors and cp3 pump installed

Sorry but :roflmao: Why would GM buy injectors from a small shop that has a bad reputation when they obviously buy direct from Bosch? Who do you think they bought the millions of injectors from that went into the trucks originally? Even if they wanted 3rd party remans they would buy them for...

    HELP!!Wheel bearing snapping off continuously

I agree here. I have seen them in horrible shape without breaking, but have seen guys try to drive with no CV in the truck and the wheel bearing will come apart within miles. One of my guys snapped a CV at the strip and when he told me about it I assumed it was at the joint and told him to...

    LMM: Wheel/Tire combo?

My vote goes to racing on the lightest rim and tire combo you can and if the budget allows doing it on tires that are for racing. If I wasn't running 30x14 cheaters on 16x10s that weight 12 lbs I would be running PYOs with some 28x11.50 MT cheaters or just some cheap soft street tires. Driven...

How are low oil prices affecting your business/trade?

As a business owner but not in the O&G field I can see this from pretty much everyone's angle. I completely agree that the hit to the O&G industry sucks for anyone impacted immediately and it will ripple out and hurt other business's. But the lower prices at the pump and higher profit margins...

    12/16v battery's

Not a DMax but I put a Lithium Shorai battery in my 1670 V-Twin Yamaha about a year ago. It was about half the size of stock, 1/10 the weight, has more cranking amps, and puts out at max until it is dead - no slow decent. Also leaving it sit for months doesn't bother it at all, still has a...

    Cam or Heads???

Not to step on any vendor's toes but I keep the 6480AF and 9100AF on the shelf if Guy doesn't have them to sell to you direct and no other vendor has them.

    LB7: 10 sec zf-6

With 16x10s with 6" of Back Spacing you can. We have run them on trucks with 5" drop. At 12.40 lbs each the rims are nice and light too. I have a set of 7" BS but they do not fit. With a handful of modification they with fit with 6.5" BS, but they don't do halfs on BS currently.

LB7: White smoke after injectors and cp3 pump installed

Who is DCS? I have tried Remans from very reputable places other than genuine Bosch and never had great luck. Balance rates won't be as low and they won't last as long. I have helped out more customers than I can count with trucks that they put injectors from _________ (you name it) in their...

    Compounds idea

What converter do you have, what injectors, and who's tuning? With the right combination, dialed in shift points, and good tuning an 80/87 is a blast to drive and I've towed another Duramax on a trailer numerous times with it. With too tight of a converter and too low of shift points you will...

    Proper fluid in the Allison

I like that the synthetic holds up better to extreme heat when something goes wrong in a trans is all I am saying. With a 2 year warranty on transmissions I am coming out of pocket to fix it so I put good stuff in every build - it's not an optional upgrade. When you buy 275 gallons at a time...

    Proper fluid in the Allison

I mean for any transmission, not just your Allison.

    REAL World MPG's

I collected almost all of the parts to make it an SS clone, including a custom rollpan that a guy makes for the SS trucks to fill the gaps under the tail lights. I would have to go back through my notes but there were a few pieces I was missing and I never got them or took the truck to the body...

    Proper fluid in the Allison

I recently tore down a trans that caught traction during a shift on a rolling burn out and completely toasted the C1s, had hot spots on the C2s and C3s and yet the Schaeffer's fluid looked brand new, didn't smell burnt and was still protecting everything that wasn't involved in the failure...

    REAL World MPG's

Check it for boost leaks and while it is under pressure listen around the EGR cooler and make sure it very slowly drops pressure. We find a lot of trucks, mainly LBZ/LMM but some LLYs with EGR valves that are leaking and it kills the mileage. Tune a truck and have the guy call 2 weeks later...

    Front Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly

Sorry to dig up an old thread but thought I remember mention of a lifetime warranty on hubs. I really have to keep the original box(es) for as long as I own my truck? I can understand a copy of the invoice, but could you imagine if you had to keep every box from everything you've purchased...

    Proper fluid in the Allison

I used Torque Drive with success for years before switching to Schaeffer's mostly for availability and company structure reasons (not a pyramid selling structure like Amsoil) and would use it in mine if I had it laying around.

    REAL World MPG's

I'm not talking about crank horsepower numbers and I'm talking about in a 7,000 truck empty, not a car that weighs half as much. Of course even a "almighty" Allison that was spec'd for 365 crank hp and work, pulling, and normal driving type use has issues with nearly doubling the power and then...

    REAL World MPG's

For one you talk about Rams with trans issues... big surprise there, LOL. Then you mention Bully Dog - I wouldn't put a Bully Dog on a Scooter if you gave me both of them. I also do custom tuning on GM gas engines including the LQ9 6.0L that comes in the SS, Escalade, Denali, GMC VHO, and...

    REAL World MPG's

Sounds like they are all talking about bone stock trucks that are choked out with emissions crap and wasting fuel to clean the filters that choke them in the first place. On a 6.7L Cummins you can pick up about 3-5mpg by doing an exhaust and tuner. If you do an intake and intake elbow you will...
