Really? Good to know. I looked at other places online and vatozone and advance. They're all 3 years. Or maybe 2.

any idea how many times the axel nut has been takin off and on in the life of the cv shaft?? for front end work or anything else done to the truck??. I have seen severly failed wheel bearings drivin way farther and faster down the road than I though possible with about 2 inchs of play not a bearing left in it but never seen the stub of the cv shaft bust off like that I would say it was fatigued enough that last toqure was almost to much but then driving putting more pressure on it was over the limit they usually hold the bearing togeather really good even if they get hot

I agree here. I have seen them in horrible shape without breaking, but have seen guys try to drive with no CV in the truck and the wheel bearing will come apart within miles. One of my guys snapped a CV at the strip and when he told me about it I assumed it was at the joint and told him to pull the rest off the diff and leave the stub shaft in to hold the bearing together, but it was the stub shaft that broke off the joint and he made it almost home before watching his wheel roll on by.

FYI if you get wheel bearings for an LMM the 2WD and 4WD are the same part number and can be run without CVs. They are nearly double the price but it is nice to be able to yank a broken CV and get home. Just gotta swap the wheel speed sensors.

I have installed a ton of MOOG hubs with no issues as well.

I noticed something when I was installing my wheelbearing ...it seems that my CV shaft doesn't slide through all away out where the splines are flush with the outside of the bearing...I torqued it with no wait on it 177 foot pounds backed it all the way out just to see where the splines would sit and when my other cv shafts snapped they snapped at the beginning of the threads so maybe the splines on these shafts aren't long enough to sit flush with my spindle on the nut side It sit about a quarter inch back in there curious if that's normal everything is assembled correctly !!! My shaft is bottomed out on my wheel bearing/knuckle so I know it's not caught up on splines or something any idea if it's suppose to be like that I'll update pic but camera sucks
