Where to buy a Tech II

So far they are being helpful. I am sending both Tech 2 units and both CANdi modules back to them $60 through USPS. I am dealing with a guy that goes by Thomas in emails, based on his English I know that is his stage name, but he is being helpful.

Where to buy a Tech II

I bought two of them about a month ago for us to have here at the shop. Initially one of them would not work with either CANdi module, while the other would work with both CANdi modules. I didn't want to deal with returns so I figured we would just use one on 05 and older trucks and the other...

    Broken Crankshaft Alt Fire Cam

I sell new LB7 cranks for just under $1000. In the grand scheme of a build they are pretty cheap.

    LLY: 2006 LLY Advice

This was a little too hard of a boost launch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfOi146werI No good starting line videos but I have left at 3000+RPM with 30x14 cheater slicks on all 4 corners and gone 6.5 at 106mph in the 1/8 with tie rod sleeves on MOOG tie rods and a straight centerlink...

Converter flash point and stall correlate?

I know you weren't accusing me of that, but wanted anyone that read my post to be clear that I'm not saying that Precision is the be all end all or anything, just that they make one for me that I am very happy with.

Converter flash point and stall correlate?

I am not knocking SunCoast at all - use their parts in my builds and keep their kits and some converters in stock. I don't have issues with their converters, but I also can't say I've never hurt one. They have always taken good care of me, and I have no complaints. Back when I asked Terry to...

Allison 6sp: SC 1056, 1058 or Precision ML

I've never had them be any 1058s more harsh than just another shift.

Tail Housing to transfer case mating surface???

I've only seen them on early LB7s though, not an LLYs.

    want too lower my dmax

For the rear move all the hangers up on the frame 5" and bolt them back on. Keep your overloads. If you add bags you shouldn't need to notch the frame at all. For the front I personally think that drop spindles are the best route. Only draw back is they say you need at least 17" rims...

Converter flash point and stall correlate?

Precision makes a converter for us that will flash to 2500 but couple so aggressively that if you keep traction it will drag RPM down as it loads the motor. 4H with the brakes planted it'll stall right to 3000 RPM and come up to 3200-3300 if you try for a second. I run it on our shop work...

Just sent one out last week with this issue on a Blackwater engine that was only a year old.

Allison 6sp: SC 1056, 1058 or Precision ML

I think that either of those would be a good choice. The 1058 work well with a stock turbo up to a small S400 like a 468. In my opinion it is a little too tight to get on top of bigger s400s. The ML works awesome for any stock or variable vane turbo and for S300s, but I feel it is a little...

    Air Dog 150 install

I haven't run into an AD150 kit without quick disconnects yet (since they came out). If you are too lazy to drop the tank and install the supplied draw straw the quick connect will connect right to the factory fitting at the tank for supply to the AD and the line going to the motor will connect...

    LLY: 2006 LLY Advice

If you said you were going to wheel the heck out of it, rock climb, sled pull, drag race every weekend, etc. I would be recommending a centerlink of some sort. But for what you have said you are going to do a set of Cognito braces and a set of tie rod sleeves should be absolutely fine for you...

Info: Allison VS GM transmission tuning

Daily drove a Kodiak quite a bit and if I was keeping that truck I would have made some major tuning adjustments. It drags out every shift way too far and like Mike said it will downshift if you come off the throttle at all.

    LLY: 2006 LLY Advice

Here is what I am finding. This is if your tie rods are even worn out and in need of replacement. All of the wear items would have a lifetime warranty from MOOG. MOOG ES3488: $30.89 each x 2 = $61.78 MOOG ES3609: $46.99 each x 2 = $93.98 Rough Counrty Tie Rod Sleeves = $34.95 Total for...

    LLY: 2006 LLY Advice

Leaking transmission lines is about the only common LBZ issue. Again just forget the LLY, with tuning the one thing that made it an "LLY" is gone and you have a tuned LBZ; there are dozens of real LLY (04.5-05) parts that will not work on your truck and calling your truck an LLY could cause...

    LLY: 2006 LLY Advice

I'm not taking your questions the wrong way, just giving you my opinion on it. Stronger parts where they aren't necessary are a waste of money to me. I'm sure a 6" diameter solid steel rod with yokes on the ends would make a really strong driveshaft, but it is completely unnecessary and would...

    LLY: 2006 LLY Advice

They way I see it is that the stock tie rod's only weak point on a suspension with proper angles is the inner tie rod being able to bend, with a sleeve around it that can't happen - so problem solved. The other parts you mentioned are solutions to front end problems caused by severe angles...
