    2WD RCLB LBZ Build

Thanks for the info Tom. I don't think it would be an issue to get them fitting based on that stuff. The upper ball joint angles would be fine I think and I could probably replace the upper joint with a 1500 upper joint and not even have to ream anything. Do you know where the 1.25" comes out...

    2WD RCLB LBZ Build

The truck with me in it was 4430 on the scale at Peidmont Dragway for the Rudy's Diesel event. Front wheels are still 8 lug - they are Real 16x4s with M&H front runners on them. I have thought about doing 1500 spindles and 5 lug conversion wheel bearings, but haven't gotten around to seeing if...

    2WD RCLB LBZ Build

We got to go do some testing on the truck last week. Drove it around on the street for about an hour with the front clip off, making a bunch of hard pulls for the last half hour of it. When I go out you could hold your hand on the charge pipe and it was just warm to the touch. This...

Top 53 RWYB Street Legal List

Need to move #53 up the list. We took it out to Darlington last week and made 3 passes on the new setup. The best pass still had a lot of issues - 2nd gear launch didn't want to work at all, so I had to leave in 1st; and then it hit 4th okay, but immediately hit 5th then 6th all at the 1/8...

    2WD RCLB LBZ Build

Like Dozer said: with that big of a single we will not be pushing it hard or running very high boost - the turbo discharge temps should be a lot lower than most. If it does need cooled it will be done with nitrous. On the stock motor we are not going to be pushing it hard at all and losing...

Not cheap in the least. But we were having issues with a brand new 800 CCA, 1000 CA battery not wanting to start the truck unless it just came off a slow charge. Already have 2/0 gauge welding cable from the battery up to the starter and 2/0 ground from the battery to the frame and the frame...

A base model 2WD RCLB is under 6000 to begin with. But we did a fiberglass front clip, front bumper, doors, bedsides, and tailgate skin. The framework to hold it all is 1x1 thin wall aluminum square tubing. It has a 5 gallon fuel cell at the rear of the truck. Battery is at the rear. Full...

    2WD RCLB LBZ Build

Cam is in, heads just came back and are about to go on. The body is back from paint. We stuck a mock up motor in and fabbed up the front mount setup for it. Just got the exhaust piping back from ceramic coating. Also deleted the bail connectors and completely redid the wiring harness to...

    Waglers New Budget Rods

I didn't say I cared about the visible machine marks, or even who's rods I was talking about. I was just explaining to WolfLLY that Carrillos were fully machined. I know Carrillos are, I was talking about some billet rods I have seen looking like that are not.

    Waglers New Budget Rods

Yeah, with a set of Carrillos in your hands you can tell they are machined everywhere just like a billet rod - but you will have a hard time seeing any milling marks on them. Some other billets you see a lot of the machining marks on - they almost look glass beaded and not shot peened.

    Waglers New Budget Rods

As Forged means they are basically only touching the bores on both ends with a machine. The Carrillo rods get machined everywhere to get from the forging to the finished product.

    Broken Crankshaft Count?

Now that the Callies Durastar/Compstars are out we have started using them in all cast piston builds. Our forged piston builds get Callies Ultra Billet cranks.

    Broken Crankshaft Count?

I haven't been on here much lately, but the first I know of off hand that was a brand new crank that had only ever been run with an AF cam.

Anyone tried no intercooler on Duramax?

Brett - I am not against running nitrous on it, but on a stock short block I think the turbo and fuel that we have will be way more than enough. I could still pull more fuel out of it and spray it more for a cooling affect than anything. But if power is the only thing that the hot air will...

Anyone tried no intercooler on Duramax?

There is a big difference in your triples and a big single. You are compressing the air twice, through 3 relatively small turbos and to a much higher pressure than what this truck will be seeing. We also won't be pushing this turbo very hard while it is on the stock motor and not using...

Anyone tried no intercooler on Duramax?

Time to dig this one back up from the dead.... In the 2WD Race truck we are working on we already had the radiator mounted in the bed with electric fans and an electric water pump. No HVAC system. Trans cooler in the bed also. Right now we are doing the next round of mods including head...

Well, looks like some head work and a cam are getting added to the current round of mods - obviously head studs will be added as well.
