Ah ok! I was wondering how he went from buying machines to building duramax race engines in that amount of time. Lol. The turn around time I'm seeing out of them is awesome!
Thats awesome! Are you a little nervous about having a guy who just bought machining equipment 3? months ago building your motor? Not saying hes not good, just asking.
After reading this thread and a few others im taking my truck to my local professional detailer and getting my wheels coated with opticoat pro. Its cheaper and he claims better than clear coating.
Well its back from the body shop looking better than ever, got projector headlights coming for it and the stuff to do a leather 6 passenger conversion and rebuild my driver seat. Can't wait!
I used the seals that came with the recon kit and it leaked like crazy. Using silicone now and it seems to be fixed but the damage was done. I do love how they look though.
Im happy at right around 550 or 600 and dont have too much money in mine. $500 tuning, $2,900 trans, $1,400 turbo kit, $600 fuel system, $50 tie rods sleeves, $300 extrude honed my stock injector nozzles, $300 gauges, ~$1,000 head studs n gaskets.
Save your money. Do a box stock 366 now while its apart and easy to do! I have $1400 in my kit including the turbo. I bought it from trent nell back when he was in business. Dont know if anyone else has pricing like that.
If I were you I would pull the engine now. Its easy and makes pulling the head a lot easier and its pretty much gaurenteed your engine has issues so why not just take it out awhile?
