No I was at the event and was wondering where bucks truck was, and I was told that it was at the house and they were taking the trans out to fix some internal issues

Buck and Steve showed up later in Bucks tow truck (an LBZ) and then dynoed 599 and then claimed it was all motor and steves tuning when it clearly was spraying

Kinda of sad that the Dodge Boys claim there is no trans issue. What do they gain by fibbing?

By Cole's own admission, his LBZ tune (if it's actually his) is under 500. At the Bakersfield Event (largest local event for 2007/2008), Cole did not put his truck on the dyno, nor were there any LLY/LBZ/LMM TTS-tuned trucks. Heck, there weren't even any LB7's.

My guess is it's a EFILive or PPE tune, since TTS has not proven able produce a commercial LLY/LBZ/LMM tune of more than 50HP.

Really? Perhaps someone could explain why the #1 problem with the Dodges is Trans Failure for losing races. ProStreet Dodges have a better than 50% attrition rate per event.

Yes, on the InterWebbyThingy, there is never a problem with a Dodge, but when you actually attend these events and watch, Dodge's greatest enemy is their trans.

Like at the finals in Texas, I don't believe one Dodge survived. Colorado, ditto.

This is why you never see detailed posts about Dodge attrition at these events. It gets too real for their taste, so it's hidden from the public eye. When people capture the failures on tape, it's always something "minor".

If the Spruill truck has any problems with their Dodge trans, you won't ever hear about it. It's just the Code of the Secret Squirrel.

Pat, I never said they dont break. I am just repeating what Ron wolverton(sp) told me when I was having a few things refreshed at Suncoast back in Feb.

The problem with the Alli is electronics.

That is what ron was saying. He said brayden was working on that.

He also said that Buck's truck was being shifted from speed or rpm I cant remember which, and that it was giving them headaches. But he thought he had a solution that involved a 48re I think.

Its been awhile since I was there so I know I am leaving stuff out.:baby:

The Allison is physically a bigger, stouter, trans, with more Medium Duty use than all other autos combined.

The only reason the Allison is not working on all trucks is time. The 47re had a headstart.

Custom,

I want to know what you and Mike decided to do to your trans to get it going. I don't think you ever did say on DP what you guys ended up with.

Oh I really dont like reading threads like this:eek: Shhh look in my sig:eek::eek::eek: If I only knew then what I know now

Hell I don't know, I'm running the same tranny and TC as you are, also a copilot for when I race and I've had zero problems and truck has over 25,000 on that set up. I also run the hot street tune of Rob's all the time, have even towed with it and no problems. Rob runs the the same tranny and TC and had made tons of 1/4 passes on his truck, many in the 11's and it is still going strong. I really think tuning play a major role in how your tranny lives.

Rob doesn't have the same converter, he has a 1057.
You have a similar trans as E. Carter, but neither yours or Robs is even like his. 30psi more mainline along with no or minimal cut back will mask a weakness in a trans. The guy who started this thread has a 5sp, which in stock configuration, has proven to be weaker than the 6sp.

Tuning will play a major role in a trans living as far as shift quality, but HP will smoke a weak clutch... taking the shifting out of the picture. This guys problem was the C1, which shifting has nothing to do with, as it comes on and stays on....til it goes off of course.:D

I have had a full set of Altos sitting on the shelf for over a year ready to go in the truck. Haven't needed them yet.

With a couple of MikeL mods and the co-pilot, my stock clutches seem to work well, even with back to back 11.7 second passes and 100's of 12 second passes.

I may tear into it this winter for a converter change. I'll check the clutches and take photos and post up good or bad.
