Truck has as low as 50 psi of compression in some cylinders, Russ's bling bling oh la la custom intake manifold is a $1000 piece of shit paper weight that is warped and leaked beyond the point of fixable.

Im pretty much over it - I think it will be put up for sale if it ever runs correctly.

Matt i would wait till you drive it to do any thing drastic, i think you will change your mind after a few spins if you get that far. how do you know the manifold is leaking ? pretty tough to pressure test with out sealing the whole exhaust system and pressure testing the whole engine , turbo's, exhaust, and everything.

All you need is an adapter to hook shop air up to the inlet of the turbo and you can pressure test everything from the turbo to the intake manifolds.;)

Never said it did.:thumb: The question was asked, how do you tell if the bridge is leaking.

There is engine pulsing coming out of the gap the whole bottom side of the flange where it warped when being welded is what I was told. Mind you, this is engine pulses coming out of the intake. There are issues. They are tearing it down and investigating further - means the turbos, piping etc all have to come off.

How does an intake manifold cause low compression?

am I remembering correctly that this is a SoCal-built engine, not just SoCal parts assembled by someone else? AND it has virtually no miles on it since install?

Has it EVER ran normally since being put together and put back in the truck???

You aren't saying the low compression is because of the leaking intake but rather the leak is just allowing you to see pulses in the firing, right???

Has it been determined 100% that ALL the wiring for EVERYTHING is good and well??? Any description of the miss??? There aren't a lot of things to make cyl. pressure low. Are some of the cyl. in good pressure range (mid 300s)??

It doesnt help that Im 4 hours away. Its a SoCal built motor. There is something going on inside. The low compression they think is from a missing spacer in the hold down for the injectors. That would have been me or Jason when the injectors were put in. Dan called Guy and discussed everything with him and they are sure the valves were set correctly when it left there, its just idled since then.

The techs at PPE know what is going on, they will get to the bottom of it. If there is anything wrong with the motor that was Guys fault he will take care of it of course ( I dont think there is), Russ wont do anything I know so Ill be buying a PPE race intake to replace that piece with I guess.

Guy gave the techs a few things to do and report back to him tomorrow with the results so rest assured, its in good hands. I havent had my hands on my truck in 2 years hardly, I may be miscommunicating something or not understanding over talking on the phone with Dan or who knows.

Bottom line, PPE is fixing it, the bill keeps racking up by the hour, and eventually I will drive down with a trailer and put it on it and drive home, and then get home and do a fat burnout down my street. :thumb:
