Will this cooler work with pro fab manifolds? Seeing how there is not heat shield on the manifolds I’m assuming I won’t have an issue, but I’d rather not assume.

Josh's shop is going to order me a new 2020 cooler and send it up my way. Going to try it with PPE manifolds and my external air-oil cooler as well.
Will check back in 3-4 weeks from now once I have everything.

Have you already sourced a new nipple for the filter housing?

I E-mailed Bat Inc who makes the adapter on the oil filter housing to see if they make the same threaded adapter in the M22x1.5 threads. I am hoping they do, as this will be easy to replace.
If not, I will have a local machine shop make me one.

They don’t have 2020 stuff on repair link so imma call up the dealer that we deal with and see what kinda pricing I can get and order it up. I’ll get back to you all in a few weeks about it. Got my first kid due in 3 week and I’m trying to finish up a house renovation before then.

the sealing diameter of your sandwich adapter will be too wide as it is. you will need to either make an adapter plate or use a different sandwich adapter. already tried this on my own external air to oil cooler with the new 2020 oil cooler.

Great info, I just put an early L5P cooler on a 03 rebuild. It fit perfectly just had to clearance the heat shield slightly. I used two of the stock Allen head bolts an three HPOP Powerstroke bolts to mount it. Cooler is much bigger than the original, that 2020 cooler must be ginormous.

Crap! I see the old filter OD is 88mm and the new is 72mm. I was hoping there would be enough material on the cooler to make it work.
Do you happen to have or can get the measurements for the cooler oil filter sealing surface? OD and ID?

Did you happen to have aftermarket manifolds with the 2020 cooler?

Do you notice a difference between your new 2020 cooler vs the original cooler with air-oil cooler?

Yes unloaded thus far. The real test will be loaded. 240* was the norm when towing up these hills and could still hit 260+ if I tried. The aux rad helped over the winter while towing in keeping oil temps down a bit better but that is never the same as when I tow during the summer

I have yet to see over 220 on my oil temp gauge since doing the swap hauling a 2015 GMC dually on my 24’ bumper pull trailer (probably around 21k lbs gross between the truck and trailer). That load would normally see peak temps of 240-250 with the factory cooler, but I am hesitant to compare temps because I had to move my temp probe to the pan with the new cooler. I need to get an adapter sorted out so I can put it back in the cooler housing like I had it before reading pre-cooler temps. On the highway, it is usually showing around 180-190 where before it was usually around 210-220.

It may not be that far off since I see the same unloaded temps.

How was your coolant temps?
