Damn thats good :thumb:Here's a different shot of the first weld.
I can't see the pic real well. Are those pin holes in the center or just craters were you started and stopped?
Would you feel comfortable that you penetrated deep enough into the thicker flange?
Would You charge for that work?
I am just asking questions and being picky. Not saying I can do better. I just know how it feels to have your work picked apart online by a carpenter, accountant, or whatever else.

The second pic is easier to see, and it looks fine to me.
Why is the stainless not rainbowed is it not 309 or am I missing something?
They had color on them. The customer requested the welds be cleaned and shiny so that's how I finished them. I only use a stainless wire had brush to lightly clean my welds so as to keep all the definition of the weave intact.
Schwinn68, if you have been viewing the thread I would like to ask you a question.
If you were to make a kit like the one I sell how much time would you have in it?
Just a rough estimate. (cutting, fabbing and welding, assume all the flanges are on the shelf.
And how much would you charge per hour? Price varies greatly by location and region.
Or anyone else who may be qualified to answer this is welcome to as well.
Because I am a mechanic not a welder.
I spend all my spare time on forums.
I am a forum junkie same as the rest.
Dbush the welder came with a cd and manual. I could prob read that :roflmao

I've seen it, but I don't understand the process.

Know this is off topic but I spoke with D today. Learned a lot more that I didn't know and decided that I should have a sign made for my dumbass..."Insert foot in mouth" Anyways talked/text got the ordeal figured out quite well. I guess I was frustrated of the truck being down but I learned there aint a point in bashing him its already broke and this just created drama. I mean I/we don't go blow up on the tire manufacturers when we get flat but I digress. D and I have a plan in place...I did learn that whatever happened in the past at Custom Auto he told them that he would take care of all the warranties out of his own pocket. So I must say that he is going to eat a hefty chunk on this and did offer to pay the labor to have it removed/installed here in town. That he didn't have to do so I guess goes to show I have much more learning to do. And he did remind me (I forgot...again ratard moment) that he let me know he was sure the TC had some form of fault.
So the past is behind us and the bashing of D can stop. Even as much as he can drive us all crazy...he still has good morals and is trying to help everyone out here in the diesel community.
That is all...have a wonderful day/night
