yeah probably wouldnt work(balance rates). I would pull the valvecovers and injectors and reseal the cups with new o rings and loctite before i would do gaskets imhoNo studs.
The smoking is the main problem. I am not as worried about the black specs in the coolant.
Checking balance rates wont do any good because if there is low compression do the a HG leaking the injector will try to compensate. Correct?
I wouldn't mind spending some money to get it diagnosed but I don't want to take it to the dealer and get reamed
