We have smoke at idle

It is kind of hard to see but if you look at the exhaust straight on like kneel down you can see smoke at idle.

It goes to the dealer Tuesday Hopefully they will cover them

I had my truck to the dealer about a month ago. Not a word about go fast goodies. Granted it was all getting paid for my my other ext. warranty, but quiet none the less..

Hopefully they are just happy to have work.

Fingers crossed for ya Kevin!

I know the service writer pretty well we have a large commercial fleet we bring to him so he wont jeopadize that I don't think that will be a problem. The GT4094R didn't cause the injectors to fail.

It is pretty amazing its first set lasted 165K miles I also have the nicktane that looks good.

All Lb7 Injectors fail no matter what

After 6am things will change for a life time for Gm, I have a friend also that is the service manger of the shop,My truck does not see the tech or the inside of there.I get the parts and there changed at home and I return the core parts. Also doesn't matter what the service write says,it's what the tech says on the phone with Gm with the injectors there really getting hard on the injector repairs and the low funds.

but Obama said my warranty was safe

If I have to replace them myself it sucks but its alot better than doing head gaskets like I originally thought

its worth a try

Since the injectors arent a warrenty, just a special service policy I know my dealership replaces them no matter what.

But lately I have seen some changes. I took it in for what I thought was a bad injector and they didnt seem like they wanted to touch it after they saw the S472. I have a really good relationship there and so I just said ok, ill replace it myself if it is a bad one, but unfortuneatley it wasnt.

6am, isnt that a band?:D

itll be interesting to see what happens for GM.

Well as we thought they cant warranty the injectors. But not due to the turbo.

They saw the black crap in the tank and said head gasket I told them the compression test looked good.

They also said the boost was down so they thought there might be a leak.

I still think injectors. It smokes at idle and stinks like raw diesel terrible after I get out of the truck.

My buddy said my compression numbers looked bad and that I had a blown head gasket. I think he is insane.

Anybody know what a LB7 should be psi wise for compression

with compression checks i have always focussed on the difference between cylinders and not the overal PSI # . and there did not seem to be a big diference in your , they seemed pretty consistant . have not done a compression check on a dmax though to say what # is commonly seen .

on mine with the compression tester from harbor freight they were all about 390-400 but they say as long as they are all within about 50 their good. you know harbor freight is no snap on or anything, so like trent said you have to look more at how close they are and not as much the number.

Just an FYI a compression test will not show a blown head gasket :(

Pat and Robert checked Casper's before the pulled the last engine and it was fine. But, there was no doubt the gasket where blown.

Any chance your rods might be a little shorter now?? You could still have all your number +/- 50lbs but lower than a stock truck. Lower compression, incomplete burn  Not sure how the black crap got in the tank if thats the case though. Maybe multiple probs.

I don't know. I think if a rod was bent it would have even lower compression numbers.

I just want my truck back :(

I really think it is injectors

Cool, at least you know it aint that. I know the injectors on my 03 went and it had a strong diesel smell too. No black shit in the coolant though. Smoked a lot, but mostly white.

Maybe I should go to a different dealer and stop on the way at a fuel station and put the diesel nozzle in the oil fill tube and fill'er up ;)
