Happy Days

So I finially got the freakn' New FPR installed. Ended up having to take the bridge pipe apart which, after that the R&R wasn't all tat bad. I don't yet know if everything is going to work when fuilds are reinstalled and the key is switched to on. But I have made it this far. Now for teh question of the night, what table(s) do I need to mod in EFI for a super diesel FPR? Thanks agin to everyone that has helped me thru this PIA project. The next one will be SOOOOOOO much quicker. :D

B1010 increase the top 4 cells by 50-75 Ma and test it . if desired rail matches commanded rail you are good . i would test it before to see if you even need to tweek it .

Status check, the truck starts. I have Trhown now two codes P0088 and P0089. Where do i go from here? Oh yeah and I tried to make the suggesteds adjustments and the EFI gave me some error about the ECM. ( i know that's not very helpful but I don't remember what the error was, but the adjusted tune did not load.)

the codes are being popped from the pressure being too high compared to what the ECM is comanding from the changes not being made in the tuninng , we need to know what the error was . it shouldnt care what parametter was intered into the tune , it should flash either way .

after viewing your log have you double checked the plug for the FPR , you could have a stuck regulator as well  , maybe try tapping on it lightly ( long shot )

Fpr replacement

I now have the fpr replacement down to 2hrs and 15mins. I am 6'2'' 200lbs and by no means have the girly hands mentioned in the first post. I was told prior to installing a LLY fpr on a LB7 that it will not work but had to confirm it for myself. Well its confirmed. The funny thing is that my LB7 used to surge before removing the fpr, installing the LLY one and then reinstalling the old frp. Now there is not even the slightest surge. I removed the a/c compressor and layed it aside, removed my intake tube and mouthpiece, disconnected all electrical connectors and pulled the wires and tray aside and used a hex bit, 1/4'' universal and extensions. I also built a bench out of my spare rims and plywood to bumper height to make the job alot more comfortable. Removing the a/c, and mouthpiece allowed me to not have to remove the thermostat housing and drain any cooling. Like said in previous posts an retracteble pen magnet will be your best friend during this proceedure. It will aid in retrieving fallen tools and parts and aslo assist in guiding the fpr and mouthpiece bolts into the hole prior to tightening.

Lets just say that the regulator better not be stuck. I will be one pissed off person. Will double check EC now. :D

Just double checked the EC to FPR. Both seem to be seated correctly. How would you go about tapping on this thing and how will i know when/ if it starts working.

I didn't mod the tuning at all after I mod'd my regulator and it idles like normal. Probably not tuning..

I'm guessing that tapping on the top would be more effective.

X2 also try cracking the a high pressure line to releive the pressure ( truck off of course ) then tapp , then try to re-start .

Could it be he got some dirt in the fpr bore during install?

Just a thought....but once you install a modded FPR, are you supposed to lower the lift pump pressure? Mine still surges a bit, and I wonder if the FASS pump is running too high? Heck, I dont even know what its set at.

Might try unplugging you LP.

Happened on my friends truck. The LP was pushing to much pressure and drove the rail pressure through the roof..

I tried to be careful and as neat as possible, but there is the probablity.

What is the LP and where is it?

As a side note when the truck is running, there sounds like a very hard knock towards the front drivers side, like at the power steering pump or just behind it, could this just be a side effect of the fuel pressure? Thanks again guys for all your help and patience.
