Hopefully if shops are bad out there they just put a trans in it for you. Especially if this is the 8L90 in your truck. If tech has never been into one they don’t know about all the updates and changes. It’s not listed in GM service information either.
Interesting. The one I had was at the cup end where it meets the rocker stud. Where the cup is mated with the shaft of the pushrod and I assume is friction welded...... ? Only damage was pushrod and rocker thankfully. Pulled head and oil pan to be certain.
Hopefully someone can answer your...
Sorry to answer your question with a question of my own but, how did the pushrod break? Or where in regards to the part did it break? Only dealt with this one other time (wasn’t a Wagler unit).
. Do they actually sell them though? Just browsing the website it says sell this item, not buy this item. Seems like they buy cores and parts but don’t sell back to public. Of course maybe the browser through my iOS doesn’t work right on their site.
For waste oil I get the 5 gallon jugs from our detail department. Their soaps and degreasers come in these stackable 5 gallon jugs that have 3in openings for screw on lids so it’s easy to pour waste oil into and store. Rags I only use a few from work and go back to them. Use my solvent tank for...
My guess is craigslist. Just saw a complete LML this past weekend on there for $600 and listing said it had a knock noise but ran. Had harness and everything. Someone beat me to it though. I’ve seen complete LLY’s for around $1k and LMM’s. I’d be worried though that the acronym LBZ raises prices...
It’s a great use of the factory cooler I think. I can agree with Mike about those fuel temps I’ve seen on these trucks with the factory coolers only in front of fuel tank. And you don’t drop any fuel pressure through the factory trans cooler for the FASS ?
I believe you’re right James on the NV 3500. The manuals are super hard to find So that’s a good one you got. The vortec heads on the 4.3 don’t need much work to them. And when you do the rebuild get the new updated ”spider” injection setup. Such an improvement.
i believe there is a code on the torsion bars and that’s what you’ll use to order new ones. I couldn’t imagine what would be involved for fixing torsion bars since they get twisted. Maybe some fancy cryo treatment like crankshafts.
If it’s bouncing between 8k and 24k at idle, I would look at fuel rail pressure sensor. Does the idle sound of the engine change when it’s bouncing around ?
I’m not going to go into detail about issues or not with injectors in these V8 DI motors. Not trying to slam anything. It’s probably bias of me since I’m in the dealer and see a different volume. Maybe it’s more fuel quality related to anything other than components used. Maybe other states...
Only a FASS lift pump with beans sump for fuel mods. Trans is built. Thanks to Mike. Banks I/C and pipes. S&B intake. 3in turbo horn. Banks wastegate. Port matched manifolds and polished. Did this to BD manifold on driver side. PPE up-pipes And down pipe. 4” exhaust. Fluidampr
I plan on real...
The 6.6 is direct injected. I’d take the 6.0 over it due to my reservations about DI. They do drive nice though. The 6L90 feels good behind it. Just wish software was different. Reliability is still in the air. Only customer I know around me only has approx 10k on his.
