    Cknight199 motor build thread

The White devil started at 5 degrees this morning. Cranked a little slow and smoked for a few minutes but it started.

    The White devil

Found a couple of things today while checking for boost leaks. Discovered that a tiny spot of weld blew out of the intake crossover between the 66s and 72. I threw a piece of boot and clamp over it for the time being. This didn't stop the screech under boost so I kept looking and found that the...

Truck is home. Now to get the rest of it sorted. Have either a boost or drive leak I need to find, need to redo the downpipe, replace an injector return fitting that is leaking, among about fifty other things. Thanks for the help evan, trans feels solid.

Just to clarify a something because I don't want this thread to go in the wrong direction. I did not start this thread with the purpose of calling the builder a rip off artist, because I do not think that he is. I think that he built the truck to what he felt was an acceptable level and sold...

Top 53 RWYB Street Legal List

Damn I'm about to be off the list.

Trust me that is a big concern of mine. I know the injectors are big, and it came with dual pumps with a spare ii 85% cp3, and I have seen a bunch of pics of the inside of the engine, at least I think it was this engine.

    30% over nozzles?

Other than getting them flow tested, the easiest way to tell is to run a big pw tune. Your truck might hold rail on a big tune with stock injectors, but it will not with 30% overs.

Yep. Also thinking about moving the trans coolers back to the front and getting rid of the fans that are powered off the interior fuse panel.

Just got some good news, truck is done! Evan said it shifts great and that the truck rips on tune 1. Obviously it is still a long way from being where I want it but at least the biggest expense is out of the way.

    Engine build

I'm going with they accidentally installed one stock rod and piston.

Sigh, really getting demoralized now. What kind of phucking dick doesn't install a pump rub when he is doing a full build like this. Truck got moved back a day, the manifold studs on both sides were cross threaded all the way in. Fortunately they were relatively easy to fix. Poor evan.

    The White devil

Yea, that's all I can do is move on and fix it. I have bought some very big ticket items before with no issues, all with large amounts of trust placed in the honesty of the seller. I try to conduct myself in the same manner. I guess I was due for a disappointment. At least most of it so far is...

Apparently an $8 glowplug put it over budget. Yes that wire is epoxied to the plug.

    The White devil

Sigh, still racking up those dollars. Found my drive pressure leak. The plan was for evan to swap the up pipes with stock one that I supplied but when he pulled off the stock one he found out the manifold will never seal. Apparently a couple up pipe bolts were broken off and then drilled...

Trans should be done soon. I have to say that Evan is a hell of a guy. He called last night at 1015 to check with me on a couple items. First was a stripped valve body bolt, he wanted to make sure I was cool with him putting a non g solenoid valve body in the trans and just leaving the...

    Quiet engine/drive thru tuning

I don't think you will be able to get it on a dsp tune. The idle rail pressure has it's own table that is only on the base tune and controls idle on all tunes.
