30% over nozzles?

I bought 30% over nozzles from a forum member. The nozzles were new but he had no paperwork to go with them. I installed the nozzles and a bag of parts for the cp3 at the same time. The truck runs just as good as it did before the install. It does not feel like it runs any stronger though. And there is no additional smoke output. I've monitored rail pressure and balance rates are all good. My question is should I be able to feel the difference with my butt dyno? And do 30% overs smoke on a stock tune at all? I ask because they feel like stock nozzles.

Currently tunning is stock yes. I have efi but wanted to see if I could tell any power difference with the new nozzles. Only other thing the truck has is a lift pump.

With 30% tips, I would expect to see a little smoke once in a while. At full throttle, you probably won't see any change. With only +30% nozzles, it might be hard to feel a difference, but there should be one. I suppose it is possible they sold you stock nozzles, but the only real way to tell would be to have the injectors bench tested for flow.

I say don't worry about it, and get with the EFI tuning!

Yeah I thought I should notice. I know its apples to oranges but when I put in 80% overs and daul fuellers in my other truck it felt like it doubled HP so I thought with 30% I should feel something. Also I could see in my 80% overs that the holes in the nozzle were larger just by eye balling. When looking at the 30% over I could not see any difference in size of the holes. Would the naked eye be able to tell the difference between stock and 30%?

No! And I'm not here to try to start anything. Just was looking to clarify what I was thinking. I took the risk not having paperwork with them and I learned a lesson.

I understand. Anymore buying anything from a member or non vendor is a risk. There are even some diesel shops out there that will screw guys over in a heartbeat.

Yea I'm generally a trusting person. And I believe or am hoping this was just an honest mistake.

I can't image you would see much of a difference in hp as 30% IMO wouldn't warrant a tune adjustment. Maybe a little more smoke out put but did your bag of parts affect the rail pressure just enough to clean up the smoke because it atomizes the fuel better? (Maybe)

I have a coworker who installed 30% nozzles in his truck and saw no improvement in smoke output or "butt" dyno power but he has seen a slight improvement on fuel economy and that is a bone stock truck.

Can you tell a difference in size of the wholes? Maybe, maybe not depends on how good your eyes are, how tired you are, your age and what your mood is that day. No joke my job requires my eyes to extremely accurate and there are many things that go into how your eyes perceive things at any given time.

I agree I haven't altered tuning. I was just thinking I would feel some gain. When I put the 80% overs in a truck it was night and day difference. This is why I thought there would be something gained with 30%. Also why I was asking guys actually running that size injector what there results were. I'm not saying I have the best eyes but I did examen and compare the stock vs 30% under good lighting to see if I could tell. Its might fault for not stopping right there when I suspected they might be stock.

Other than getting them flow tested, the easiest way to tell is to run a big pw tune. Your truck might hold rail on a big tune with stock injectors, but it will not with 30% overs.

I ran it with a 3150 pulse and had no problem holding rail pressure at wot. I did install the bag of parts in the cp3 but not sure if that would support 30% overs with max effort tunning.
