classic body door pins and weather stripping

I got the door pins from Rock Auto with the bronze bushings and are greasable. Awesome quality for the price. Also, genuine GM rubber will be much less headache than dorman, which require more holes to be punctured in them to allow air to escape when crushed.

Replacing Torsion bars and Leaf Springs

The torsion bar is just not infinitely flexible. Metal reaches a point where it resists flexing (twisting in this case)

Replacing Torsion bars and Leaf Springs

It does improve ride quality. In my experience up here in New England, with relatively crap roads compared to the rest of the country, stock springs and torsion bars show signs of needing to be replaced around 200k miles or 10yrs old.

Info: Powerstop, EBC, or stock brakes?

I installed the NAPA fleet rotors and pads on my daily driver 2 months ago now to try out. Never ran a set before and I won't be running another. The fit is terrible, they are absolutely not as quiet or grippy as the Brembo or Akebono pads, and they were $100+ more expensive than any other...

    Oil cooling

Just to clarify for those following this thread that don't already know. The coolant pipe on the LMM that taps off the oil cooler adapter to the rear engine cover is the supply to the egr and then to the heater core. Not the return. Yes it can and should be re-routed like other generations...

    Lost the motor?

I'd recommend trying to find something out of a rust free area if you can. Out here those complete take outs are cheaper but everything on them is usually rotted

    Testing LML VPS to ECM

If the scan tool does not read an amp load from the solenoid circuit, then it's the solenoid or an open. If it does, then likely it's the unison ring sticking.

    Lost the motor?

Fuel soaked creosote also appears oily. It honestly may not be as bad as you think, but sucks to have happen either way. It is never a fun day spending a lot of money to repair a vehicle.

Finally got the truck running, help

I can't hear any abnormal knocking or tapping from those videos. It is loud, for sure. I hesitate to say nothing is mechanically wrong, but it sounds to me like injection quantity and timing just need some tweaking

    Bad ECM?

When you tested circuit integrity, did you only test continuity or resistance? Or did you also load test it? Because I have had several of these circuits pass resistance but not pull even a 2amp load due to cold side pipes popping off and tugging on the harness. I've had wires pull off the pins...

2009 GMC 3500 Blower motor not turning on

Many times with the 07.5+ trucks, the problem is loose pins in the resistor connectors

New place to burn a hole ina piston. No crack, just hole.

How on earth did pressure get beneath the hold down bolt to begin with? Maybe the threads were stripped upon last install amd not noticed? I've seen shafts binding, bridges snapped, and rockers snapped, but a blown out hold down bolt and threads is a new one.

2006 LBZ dip stick blowing out under high boost

Or just try taking the pcv valves out completely to start and see if that reduces your crankcase pressure at all. I've run very loose clearances and never run into excessive pressure issues, but I have run into weird case pressure issues on stock long blocks, and a thorough check over the...

Dorman Stainless Steel Fuel Lines Kit

The factory flexible sections have a hdpe liner and kink all the time. I've actually had some not assembled properly at the factory and I go to put them on and since they are clocked wrong they end up kinked brand new. They are not very flexible. The Dorman lines have a ptfe liner, and while...

Dorman Stainless Steel Fuel Lines Kit

My 2 gripes about them are that the quick connects fit super tight and need oil lube and a lot of pressure to fully clip in, and the interior Teflon lining is fairly cheap and stiff, so you can still have a kinked line. Other than that, I think they are better than the gm ones and I've installed...
