    Opinions on motor build

Block was washed, magnafluxed, mains checked for wear and alignment, decks cleaned up, and torque plate honed to use a std bore mahle cast piston. They did very minimal work to it, I'll get you some bore measurements if you're seriously interested in it.

I have an extra RTA stock bore lmm block just out of the machine shop. $1500.

Front and rear main seal tool

For the price, the MA tools are worth it. Or you can go the route I did and buy a GM kit off ebay for cheap-ish.

    LBZ HVAC Issues

There is a blower motor driver/resistor. Lots of times it is a loose connection at the plug that causes the issues, but I have replaced several bad drivers. Another symptom can be a wonky blower motor speed when control is set to auto. The control unit is least likely to be your issue.

    Wash off Trans fluid

ATF is mineral oil based. It acts as a solvent, which means it will take the carbon based undercoating off your frame.

Oil feed restrictor for ball bearing turbo?

Google is your friend... Straight off Garrett's website, "An oil restrictor is recommended for optimal performance with ball bearing turbochargers. Oil pressure of 40 – 45 psi at maximum engine speed is recommended to prevent damage to the turbocharger’s internals. In order to achieve this...

    Billet Injector hold downs???

I have stretched many stock bolts at 550hp. Bent stock hold downs at the same power. Also make sure the sealing surface in the bore is not eroded after an event like that. I have had to replace heads due to erosion and grooving.

    Factory Bearings ?

I think that in our relatively slow rpm v8 application, the thicker film is better. In higher rpm applications, and in inline engines, the tighter clearance and thinner oil is free HP. Oil temp and upstream heat loading seems to have more effect than clearances on bearing life in our engines and...

    Torque Converter Questions

The rattle is a common trait with Goerend converters. So much so that they have a disclaimer in the box and on the order form. Luckily they have been fairly easy to work with in the last couple of years to get it quieted down in situations where the customer will not tolerate how loud they are...

    LB7 oil pump conundrum.

I do not believe for one second that even a .003-.004 main/rod bearing clearance would cause that low of pressure...my race engine was super loose with avg. Main/rod bearing clearances of .0035", had enlarged squirters, big turbo oil feed, etc. Did have a new LML pump though with a shimmed...

    lbz van thermostat conversion

I may be wrong, but I believe the reason there is a thermostatic valve supplying the turbo is to reduce the amount of time cold oil is flowing through the turbo housing. The clearances in the turbo are relatively tight and thicker oil doesn't work well for the stock turbos. I think that proper...

    p20EE nox sensor readings

Yes, but the conditions for the poor DEF quality test results in these ECMs take more variables into account than the actual fluid. It has no way to accurately monitor the fluid itself, it can only monitor the system conditions and make inferences based on sensor data.

    PCV HOSE Size/ Pressure

This is not true for every engine. My race engine, with 20w-50, forged pistons and loose tolerances and probably less than ideal Ra cylinder wall finish, I vented to atmosphere and it only smoked a bit when cold. At temp during full throttle runs, it did not show any signs of excessive flow or...

    Stroker pump vs dual pumps

Has any aftermarket cam ever snapped due to the increased load from driving an extra cp3 or 2? Anyone ever notice increased cam bearing wear? Just asking, since I have not heard of any.
