I think you are also confused as to how to measure piston to valve clearance.

    LLY - Cracked piston

I recommend billet hold downs and new hardware much more often these days for lly + generations. I have stretched stock bolts, and stripped threads from the head and bent and snapped stock hold downs in a few LLYs. First was my own built truck, and it happened at the end of a truck pull on...

    Chasing a problem

I can't even count how many threads you've got on this truck's problems, I do feel for you guys. I'm sure you've answered this before, but you have tried other fresh TIS OS files correct?

    Low Calculated Fuel Rate

I understand what he is saying. He said the truck seems to run better now with new injectors. But is it actually running the way it should be? Gathering more data rather than taking advice based on subjective seat of the pants feeling would be the preferred approach, no?

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

This is all great info, thanks Ken. I'm going to have to do a lot more homework on this subject now. I thought I did a lot of research back in 07- 11 on biodiesel, but I certainly have a lot more to learn.

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

I also wonder if pre-heating the fuel prior to cooling, and incorporating a separator to trap the asphaltines (abrasives) would help? Or as a bypass setup, add the separator on the return side of the pump where the unused fuel is still hottest? These are just theoreticals. The heat produced by...

    Low Calculated Fuel Rate

What's your actual vs desired mm3? Not knowing what tool your are using, Calculated fuel rate is not all that helpful. There are several other sensors such as MAF, MAP, fuel temp, and rail pressure that, if erroneous or gummed-up, can cause fuel to be limited.

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

Question for Mark, having been a huge proponent for higher pressures for making more power for years, have you also tested any modifications to injectors and, say piston bowl design, to optimize power at lower injection pressures? In general, I wonder if a water-cooled pump case would be...

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

I'm curious, did they say pressures over 26k exceed the MAWP of their pump, or just that for your intended duration of load and 26k+ pressure, it was not going to survive?

    Fuel rail lines bursting

I've seen stock lines kept out of corrosive environments crack both axial to the tube and radial across the tube, presumably to resonance and 27k + psi. Haven't seen it on a stock truck yet, but these were lb7, lly, and lbzs that were tuned up.

    LML oil pump conversion info....

Yes, the newer water pump style was listed because I was converting a lb7 based engine. You, Chris, can use whatever balancer you want except an lml balancer, because the offset is different and would require lml brackets for the belt driven components to line up. No mods needed to the reluctor.

    Info: High output alternators

I've bought quite a few of the rare electrical ones and to my knowledge, my customers have only told me about one of them not lasting very long. Bearing failed. Maybe 1 of 20 or so? I've had more issues lately with voltage regulators in the 08+ style than anything. I get them rebuilt locally...

    Need help ASAP

When the power steering pulley came off, you said it wouldn't shift right after that? I have to assume that the pulley damaged some wiring in the harness from the tcm to the trans and tcase. You said it would drive normal in 4lo? That is still correct?
