    Help-Towing with a lowered truck

I sold the truck actually but liked the setup so much that I may do the same on the new LBZ. So...this thread is still applicable. :thumb:

    Exhaust question

You can change the vane position at idle with EFI live. That will stop the vacuum sound you are referring to. Please don't put stacks on a Duramax. The only stack that belongs on a Duramax is a single offset mitre cut and you better be making a ton of power to be flaunting that. Leave the...

I am looking to run a 71mm cheetah and wondering what else i should do aswell

Cmon guys...that's not what he wanted to hear! I still want to make 800rhwp on a stock motor, trans, and fuel system. Your crushing dreams here:rofl:

I am looking to run a 71mm cheetah and wondering what else i should do aswell

My humble opinion would be to get a fresh gasket in there with some good head studs (ARPs or A1s) and instead of spending the money on a turbo get your trans built. Then you have a solid foundation to start adding power. A built trans and good EFI tune will blow you away if your running...

    What color

I always liked coated piping to match the exterior color of the truck. However, dark blue coating won't have the bling factory needed. I think that when you spend that kind of money on parts everyone looking should know about it. I vote a metallic silver. I also saw a copper/bronze on a twin...

I don't see a built trans in your sig. If it is stock you are putting the cart way before the horse.

    How to tell

I have yet to have a stock Allison that didn't limp on a max effort tune after 10 WOT runs. Not one! Just let me drive it one...I'll tell you if its built or not.:roflmao:

    How to tell

10 WOT runs through all gears on a max effort tune will surely tell the truth. Also, if the seller is scared of you loading a big tune and doing WOT a few times...that will also tell.:thumb:

Thinking of going from lifted to lowered

The OP may want to consider just a 2" rear drop shackle prior to that much drop. Going from lifted to slightly lowered will be a huge change and he may be happy with a $40 drop shackle setup as opposed to the extra $ and work invested with the bigger drop.

FYI NY set to pass gun laws

The only problem with the WY and TX legislation is that federal law always trumps state law...so that is null and void. Five years for any fed officer trying to uphold fed firearms law in those states is an awesome idea but unenforceable according to the law on the books.

    New toys

I prefer the Tech II over the Snapon unit. I have played with both and the only real reasoning I can give for my preference is that I like the platform and how it operates better. Don't know if that justifies the price difference. As for the welder...you can do a ton of stuff with just a...
