    just turn it off long enough for you to do your diagnosis, it wont harm it. If all of your injectors/cylinders are in good running condition you wont even hardly know you turned one off. But if you have a big compression loss in a cylinder or something it will be very noticeable.

    It is easier on the stand then the frame, taking the tires off does help a lot too. the reason i did one with teh cab off was because I was too lazy to take my motor off the stand and I was sick of pulling transmissions at the time. Its kind of a nuisance working around the control arms...

    x20 on the exhaust systems. They are all packed perfect from the MFGs. but they show up destroyed. One exhaust I spent 6 hours installing because of how beat it was from UPS. i did recieve one in good condition. A nice MBRP, but it was in its original packaging too.

    I think its a duramax thing. I know of a few trucks that with no change to the tune, simply reflashing them makes them run good again.

    Ive done it both ways and cab is definately quicker and easier. The jist of it is disconnecting everything from the radiator, intercooler and transmission coolers. Not the A/C though, that will go in the air with the cab. But the compressor does need to be unbolted and rested on the battery...

    Very good chance that is the water pump pissing out of the weep hole. Ive started to see a lot of trucks leaking out of the rubber hose for the turbo coolant return line. This hose is right behind the fan pulley. Ive had a few peopel bring their trucks to me saying the water pump is bad...

    Unfortuneatley this is often what is needed to find the issue. One little spring or valve could be in wrong or a tolerance could be off just a little bit. Ive learned it the hard way myself many times.

    that sucks. I just used that heat insulation tape you can get at NAPA or HVAC companies. I dont remember what its called but it is reflective and has an adhesive backing, you can buy it in sheets and then cut out what you need. Worked good for me. I just stuck it right to the firewall.
