    Head studs and HTT

I have the truck in the shop and finally had the turbo placed last night (still need to tighten all the bolts, but the turbo is in the truck). The only thing left on the turbo other than the bolts is the intake, exhaust, boost tubes, and some more EFILive tunes :D. I have had some issues and...

Do dual CP3's need to be the same size pump?

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Thanx, I needed that. Unfortunately, she is pretty immune to those already...I kind of wore out those reasons when I was racing snowmobiles....dangit, I should have saved them for the truck...:D who knew:dontknow:

Do dual CP3's need to be the same size pump?

So I can break $hit faster......that always goes over well:dancenana: But she did think it was kind of funny when I blew a Ford away last summer on a hill....He was surprised to see me pass him going up the long 6% grade....I wish I could have seen his face when he noticed I was towing my...

Do dual CP3's need to be the same size pump?

That would be great if I can get the $$ together for the install kit...:( But.....my bride is still quivering over the new turbo that is getting installed over this weekend. The turbo box in the living room is a constant reminder right now.:D

Do dual CP3's need to be the same size pump?

I have no problems with the idle, Pat did the tuning. The II in the valley was one of his old test units. I was thinking of getting a WD FPR for the old pump if I decide to do the dual CP3's.

Do dual CP3's need to be the same size pump?

Has anyone run a different output set of pumps on a dual CP3?

Do dual CP3's need to be the same size pump?

I replaced my stock CP3 with an II mod CP3 because the regulator went out on the stocker LB7. Because of the way I got the II, I still have my old pump with a bad regulator. I am a no-pump kit away from dual CP3's if I replace the regulator on the old pump. Can I run the higher volume pump in...

    lb7 cp3

You have two options, replace the regulator, or totally replace the pump. I have only done the pump and it was a PITA, not really hard, just a PITA. I am not sure if you can change out the regulator without removing the pump. I was told by the stealer that you had to remove the pump to...

    Head Gaskets, why 3?

Thanx again...I had seen that on an earlier search. I understood the overbore and deck milled gaskets, but I guess I did not expect the tolerances to be quite so tight, especially with a stock motor. This thread has also answered my other question as to which one should be used.

    Head Gaskets, why 3?

Thanx, I have the GM Shop Manual for my truck (all 5 volumes ). The head section is not one I have had to dig through. Hopefully that is not a section that I will need for a while. Next summer will tell the tale...:D

    Head Gaskets, why 3?

I can understand different tolerances for the rod and main bearings. We are talking about oil film thickness between rotating assemblies. Are the head clearances that tight from a stock standpoint? This would make more sense to me, but not at a stock power level. Would the factory really dink...

    Head Gaskets, why 3?

I know that there are three different thicknesses for the Dmax head gaskets. I was told by a stealer parts guy that some trucks have different thickness gaskets from one side to another. My first question is why would GM need to have different thickness gaskets on the same engine? :confused...

    Head studs and HTT

Well, I talked to Brandon at HTT. Here is the deal on the wastgate settings for their Promax Turbo: They are set in the shop at 48 psi on the NEW springs. According to Brandon, the new spring takes a set the first time they are run (heated up) and lose the equivalent of about 3 psi of boost...

I go with the LB7....simply because that is the one I have :D

    Oil Pressure?

I would not use tape!!! If you want a sealant, use one of the liquid/paste sealants and make sure that the liquid/paste does not cover the first thread or the tip of the pipe threaded fitting. You do not want the teflon tape rolling around in your engine. I had low oil pressure with my LB7...

    Head studs and HTT

Thanx guys. That is what I was thinking, but someone up here said that I needed them. I thought I had read someplace that the HTT was set at 40 psi for the wastegate. Time for a phone call.

    Head studs and HTT

I am getting ready to run the truck into the shop and install an HTT 6616-71 SS (and all the other stuff in the sig.). At this point I am planning to leave the wastegate set at 40 psi as it comes from HTT. Do I need a set of head studs? If not at this time then when should I start thinking...

    htt turbo

I have a 66/16 SS that I got from Pat. It is still in the box, and I am planning on installing over the Thanksgiving Holiday. PM Kat and talk to her, they are VERY reasonably priced at McRat Racing. There are benefits from buying from McRat.:D

    Cut thermocouple wires...

It is not so much calibrated, but the wire is special (I can not remember right now what it is made of). If you use a regular copper wire to make the extension, the readings will be off. You would need to use thermocouple wire of the same type as the thermocouple (usually K type for our type...
