With all other things remaining constant; suppose a consumer that had enough disposable income as well as desire to purchase a new truck and could have anyone of the different engine packages offered for one of these brand new Chevrolet diesels (DMAX’s) which one would be the most desired to engine package to build for drag racing?

LB7, LLY, LBZ or the LMM? Which one would you like to own or build for drag racing? Please justify you responce and that you for voting.

LBZ in a NBS Truck keep the ally but less emissions crap to have to take off.

But in the long run starting with an LMM would not be too bad as if it was an all out race truck it would end up just the bock and ECM/TCM. If I am right all the blocks are about the same. so just tuning would be it.

Heads would be CNC'ed Stage 2-3
Twins or blower or Supercharger or all
EGR will be gone same with the DOC and DPF
Stock CP3 would be changed to a bigger one (WD) or twined
Rods and pistons would be changed.
Y-bridge moded or LB7 one.
Bigger tubes for all "Air" Min 3.5"
Mike L max eff Trans and box from Fleece
100%-200% over injectors
lift pump (Mitusa pump)
Stock fuel tank gone for a fuel cell

The list gos on so it is more like what body style you like or just LB7, LLY, LBZ

AS the 06-07.5 LLY's are still LBZ and the LMM is not much diff from a LBZ.

LB7 with better internals still hasnt been bested by the other versions. Thats enough proof for me.

One duramax is just as fast as the other IMO I have not seen one dmax motor that will out do the other in the right hands but some stock parts do hold better than others but hell if your building whats it matter just as long as its a dmax under the hood
