heres another. You can see how none of my defuels seem to follow any set pattern; they are completely random.

Anyone, feel free to try to make sense of it all. :)

what about lowering (D5194) maximum torque reduction requested in the tcm, When this was in beta mine was set to "0" and it shifted real nice, but ended up cooking the c-2's and c-3's. Stock is set at "89", there is a wide range to play with between 80 and 0.

see, thats strange those tables had any effect, because they are supposed to be for 8.1 applications only...not the duramax.

Reason being the duramax handles defuel and ECM-TCM communication over the high speed J1939 can bus (or GMLAN on the LBZ+ dmaxs), and the 8.1 handles defuel requests purely with an old-school PWM dedicated signal wire.

so technically there is no reason those should make any difference if modified with a dmax TCM.

larry on a different not look at B0793 in the tune that you sent me and then look at the same table in one of your tunes. i am not sure but i think this table has to do with the lag when stabinh the throttle

B0793 is pilot injection quantity at idle  our tables look alike

Ben i can see you've spent a ton of time tracking this down :(

Yup. For over 2 years. I have run every tune there is, they all do it.

My truck would have been running mid 12's back in mid-2006 if I didnt have these issues. It always trapped 106-107+mph but never ran faster than 12.9.

what tune are you running Paint?

I have had many people look at my tune and make their own changes, and it still does it.

It seems when the ECM defuels, it defuels to a torque level. From my logs, Ive discerned it defuels to somewhere around ~350 ftlbs, because if I look at my torque limited inj qty tables to the mm3 that it defuels to (say, 70 mm3 for example), if you cross reference 3100rpm and 70mm3, it falls right in the 350-400 ft lbs range.

I've recently looked at logs from a '05 with MPI twins with a variety of tuning...His magic torque level is 459, makes no sense, but we're trying some different things...

So what are we talking about here? The stab the throttle downshift lag or the defuel over 3100rpm?

i messed around with B0783. first i tried just 0 on the hole table. well that didnt work so well as you know. it was weird i hooked up the scan tool during this to see what was going on. it would regester changes in the tp but the rpms would not change. so i had to change other tables. i havent got to drive it much to see if there is any difference
