Over a month later and it feels like progress is going ssssslllllooooowwwww. I’d so much rather be in the garage but gotta get this shit done.

All the hydro guard finished and re-textured all the walls. They had been patched many times over the years it seems

Say this way for a couple weeks as I needed to pick up tile, had the Montana race to go to and I wanted a damn baca in the pines not doing a damn thing over Labor Day. Following weekend we started tile. Only got half the back wall done by end of weekend (tile setting was new to me and laying out a game plan on where to start and how to attack took up a decent amount of time). Had it nailed down by Sunday though. By mid week I had the back wall done

Went wheeling Saturday and Sunday I worked on my daughters new room (was our guest room). Put up a fake brick wall on her window wall, wife painted the other walls and assembled her new bed. No pics but wife is going for a princess theme.

This week I’ve been busting my ass every day after work to get the walls done in the shower. Finally finished that tonight so I’m rewarding myself with some time in the garage Saturday :D

Finally got my pad done. To the 40x50 shop I want to build. Wife thought she was going to get a house before a shop lol. Silly her.

Well started on my kitchen a week or so ago.

I removed a few cabinets before taking a picture. Note how the backsplash is setup.

attachment.php

This is why I hate people. Found this after pulling the backsplash down. They didn't even use staples. Just nails and then bent them up. And I didn't take a picture but the boxes were recessed so far that they nailed the outlets to the wood backsplash.

attachment.php

And why would anyone want to use box connectors to protect the electrical wiring??

attachment.php

Fixed correctly now.

Bedroom project is almost done. Roni installed the closet organizer earlier this week, and its full already. :hehe:
Then the closet doors got installed. Roni still has to paint them.
Finally gave in and asked one of my cabinetmakers on the route if they could make a countertop for the "entertainment center". They did in a day, and to top that off, it was free. :)

Our timing on our carpet was perfect, it came in Monday. Kole and I went and got it, and I installed it today. First timer, I was praying I wouldnt make an expensive mistake the whole time. I guess its good enough. Just waiting on the floor transitions and threshold.

We should be able to "move in" tomorrow. Its been a long 6 months.

To add, our garage door opener has been progressively taking a dump for the past few months. Its 20 yrs old, so....
Door would open a couple feet, hit a hitch and close back up. Hit the button again, and it would open just fine. Nothing wrong with the track or springs.
Finally got fed up with that crap and bought a 2hp Genie. Enough of this 1/2hp bs. Holee crap, its like Awnold saying, "You are coming with ME!" when that door opens now. :hehe:

Started putting the kitchen back together. Ceiling and walls painted, new recessed lighting in and new subfloor in waiting for the vinyl tile to arrive this Friday. Upper cabinets installed except for 1 so that I can paint the door frame that it is next to.

A little update before starting the Thanksgiving fun. Got some of the lower cabinets installed. Had an 'oh shit' moment last night, realized the refrigerator that I had on order and being delivered tomorrow was not going to fit. Had to run to Lowes and cancel the original and order another one that would fit and cost another $180. Yeah remodeling is fun. Bottom pic is what the flooring is going to be.

Ahh the fun of remodeling an old house. Got the appliances last Friday so wanted to hook them up. Well my house was built in 1952. What has changed since then  well gas fittings for one thing. A 1/2" wouldn't fit and a 5/8" slipped right over the fitting. Found out about the standard change and had to have it fixed. I was going to do it my self but the fiance freaked since gas was involved and didn't want me to. So found a plumber to come out and do it.

Sorry if this picture looks weird. I did a Panorama and moved at the same time to try and get everything. You get the idea. Going to order the Quartz countertops today. There is now a 12" wide cabinet on this side of the dishwasher in part to support the countertop. I have some ceiling work to do and then I can finish off the rangehood.

****NOTE**** anyone that is thinking of doing countertops better buy them now. Prices have gone up and going way up the first of the year. Tariffs with China are causing it.

I've done my fair share of gas lines and plumbing. There is nothing much different from water vs gas except for detection of leaks. Water you can see and gas you have to apply soapy water to and look for bubbles. Definitely not worth $100 for what you got. But if your wife is happy that I guess that is what counts:thumb:

Tile project took a backseat to the family beating me down that the kids need to have a swing set. Found a used one, tote it down and hauled it to the house. Now to pressure wash it, treat it for termites, stain it, and get it put back up before Christmas.....

Spread 24 ton of asphalt millings on the driveway to fix some craters. Good thing I have a tractor, or that would have been miserable.

Kinda late but it was just delivered yesterday! But I got a new fridge on Black Friday. Originally $3200 and got it for $1800. Almost got the Samsung with the tablet on the front but I didn’t feel like it was worth it at $2300 plus I don’t do much “scheduling” in my kitchen lol

Kitchen is getting sanded down and we are gonna lay paint down once I get home and some fresh carpet downstairs and flooring in my kitchen. Gonna be a busy days off! Just want to make time to get it done before Christmas dinners start with family and friends!

Finally done with the bedroom. :) Took 3 tries and 4 weeks of waiting, but Menards finally sent the correct laminate floor T-moulding trim to us. :hehe:

Lol I’ve been there. Home Depot sent me the wrong bulbs for the fluorescent lights in my shop five times. Ones they even sent me a broom instead of bulbs......

I was trying to save money by buying a case of bulbs which they didn’t sell at the stores. I finally told them after they lost their ass on all the shipping charges if they would just sell me a case of bulbs for this price out of the store I would be happy.
