Got the backsplashes done in the kitchen. I think the backsplashes came out OK. I know there are guys on here that will cringe at them but I've also seen some pro jobs that were a lot worst so what the hell.

Still need to put the handles on the cabinets.

You want to come do mine? Looks as good or better than some of the highest paid guys out there. I definitely would take credit for it.

As for finding the mistakes, almost any job I have ever done, I can go back and point out the grout that looks funny, the tile with the hollow spot behind it, or the line that has just al little bit of variation in width. Signs of a true craftsman is one that finds and knows his own mistakes even when the best of critics cannot see anything wrong.

Dropped the dog at a local rescue this morning, they/we named her Ruby.. I made the choice because, she still wants to jump out of vehicles and she isn't very good at coming to you when she knows there's no fence or rope attached.... I can/don't want to risk that, it probably get her killed, certainly not chasing her across a plant or loading dock etc.. I figured the mature thing to do is give her up. that would be better in the long run.. if I was home every day she'd stay. It was nice having company in the house for 10 days over the holidays.
Honestly part of me wish she came around more and been able to keep her.... But such is life... I'm told for what I did in 10 day with her, they where pretty impressed. Kinda makes me feel good lol

You do realize it takes A LOT longer than just a couple weeks for a dog to come around and recognize you as a companion, learn it’s name, train it to obey your simple commands, etc right? I think you bailed a little too quickly.

It took a year just to teach my newer rescue to understand English, understand his name, and even longer to train him, teach him to ask when he needs to go out and other things like that. Once they come around though, nothing beats a loyal dog.

Yes odds where stacked against her.. She came long way very fast.. the constant attempt to bolt out doors needs more work and time to correct which I didn't have to give

For the hell of it here it is with the handles. Done with this room and just finishing up a few things in the laundry room. Almost time to sell. A POD is showing up this Friday so I can start packing the house up.

Still rolling on the house. The first picture is what the original white oak floors looked like. Note the damage on the left by the door to the kitchen the many worn areas. The 2nd is after the refinisher was done (I have no idea how to do it) and after I installed the baseboards and new outlets around the room. Really happy with how they came out.

This is just the front room/dinning area. The bedrooms and hallway were also done.

It's amazing what a good floor finisher can do.

From what I know, it starts with drum sanding everything possible. Then they have a small rotary sander that they use to get in corners and close to the walls. if thats not enough, they vibrate sand everything and finally get to stain, resand, seal, and top coat.

Refinishing wood floor ain’t bad, but I like to avoid it that’s why I did wood look tile.

Yesterday my wife did me a favor by hooking up the fridge and put it back into place after I tiled under it. Well this morning I woke up to a flood. She had the ice maker line to fridge tight, but twisted the line when she moved the fridge back. So it got lose and started to leak. I had to drill a large hole in the toe kicks of all our cabinets and suck all the water up with a shopvac. Set the HVAC on 80 and put a few fans in the kitchen. No real damage.

Went through and re organized all of my parts in Stock. Cleaned everything up before I sort through everything. Started cleaning up some of the wiring harnesses that I have too before putting them in storage.

Very productive weekend

those tile shims were a cool idea when they came out but ive noticed alot of guys are prying up other tiles too much from it and leaving hollow tiles from it. mainly just fly by nighters or unskilled workers though. its increased the sales of our Uni-Bond so im not bitching :D

if you use them right and are not setting a whole house, i love them
