Yours sounds normal. Mine sounds different. But only does it when I step on it. And it only lasts till the turbo spools.

This sounds like diesel clatter. Could be too much timing or too much fuel being introduced in the low rpm/low boost areas.

I agree. His sounds normal to me. Mine sounds like death for about a second. Then the turbo clears it up. I need to get it re tuned.

Let me explain to you what I think is going on, if you have a DSP5 and it does it in all the tunes it needs to be addressed, if you have a DSP5 and it does it only in the biggest tunes it doesn't need to be addressed !

I don't build all-out race tunes for street use, I build them for the track, that means that a roll on or a flat foot of the pedal with no sufficient load or boost is going to bring the fuel in too fast and it will rattle, I can make it a gutless pig until boost comes on but that hurts the track performance and pisses off the end user.......so it is what it is, a purpose built, all out race tune, designed for the track, that's why as soon as you have boost it gets quiet, because if you left on boost it doesn't rattle !!!!

A race tune is built to leave the line under load and on boost, my own personal daily driver will rattle if I use the race/moonshine tune on the street because it is a specific built tune and there are trade-offs, learn to live with it or buy a Banks 6-Gun.

You could also try the smaller daily driver tunes if you can and get back to me.

Ok that makes sense... But why didnt it do that when the truck had the stock charger? Is it just because it spooled a lot faster?

when u turn yours off does it make a couple of thuds? like the filter is hitting the air box? ( if u have a cold air intake for hose of u that don't sometimes your filter will hit the bottom of the box compartment and make a scary noise )

I have a factory intake with my own custom ram air kit and it does rattle a little when i kill it but its flywheel rattle from my worn out pos dual mass flywheel

A stock VVT can be commanded to make boost with the vane tables and is a relatively small charger and spools quite easily, you have a non-VVT and that relies on and needs more exhaust energy to spool and with larger injectors if the fuel delivery is set-up for racing and you try to drive it on the street you will get fuel and timing rattles with low/no boost.

I could MAF limit fueling in the tunes more than I do, but DSP5 does not offer MAF limit tables for each tune, so in effect if I limit the larger tunes I could kill the performance of the smaller tunes.

Same goes with the timing limiter tables, there is only one for all 5 tunes.

Ok. Well as soon as I get my cp3 installed and take care of the low rail psi, I'll give you a call to see what you can do.

Boy oh Boy can things said come back and haunt! :D

Not to long ago I recall a rant on another tuner who had a "Race Only" tune that was NOT designed to be a daily driver that was criticized for being "quirky" and to select a lower tune if said individual didn't like it!

Learn to live with it?
Go with a competitors tune?
Change your attitude THEN contact me?

Can I for-see delayed returns to hostage ECMS?

Halloween is coming let the haunt begin! :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Whatever........ :roflmao:

I have tuned more trucks in 5+ years then dickhead has done in his lifetime, he only tunes LB7's anyway, so why do I care ???

I don't make people wait almost a year to turn around ecm's either, and I don't have any ransom demands either like dickhead does.

I also don't need a lecture about how I run my business, seeing as I have street versions and race versions of my tunes and race ones are specific, DSP5 makes that easy and the street ones make the same WOT power but with the better manners, not that you care as you don't even drive Princess and run dickhead tuning. Didn't you have to threaten legal action to get your ecm back after what 9 months, or was it a year ???

So you go have your fun, take your jabs, say whatever, but in the end I am laughing all the way to the bank, the economy might suck for pressing metal, but business is booming for tuning......

How did we get to phones? It's not a crappy phone it's brand new I just don't like surfing the net and responding (typing) with it,PITA.

Stop making stuff up! What had happened was I was suppose to do some testing for him and I didn't (no time) so I sent back my ECM and he put it back to the three tunes for me.

(so you all know this is just for entertaining purposes I have no beef with Tony never did) What comes around goes around if you're gonna dish it you gotta take it! :D

Just because your trying to be the next Steve Cole doesn't mean you have to try and mimic him totally!

Now as far as tuning you stole his tune anyway so I've heard. :D
And as far as tuning only Lb7's Steve knew better and didn't waste his time on anything else as everyone knows the LB7 is the only engine model thats worth the investment of time! There's no VVT truck going anywhere! All the trucks have ditched the VVT and run a big single or twins or triplets for sake of argument basically a LB7 at heart!

Care to give us the statistical break down of VVT trucks verses 'other' that you tune?

So fix this guys truck Steve Jr. :roflmao:
