Made attempt yesterday, managed to get some squatz in

5x185
5x235
5x285
5x345
5x385

Few sets of decline situps, was waiting for bench/row but energy levels are at all time low. GF is up all night coughing and I have been burning the candle on both ends between work and kitchen work.

I feel your pain Matt... My energy levels are next to nothing with this stupid cold:mad:

Yea I think my immune system is running full speed trying to fight off whatever the significant other has so I am consistently tired. Sucks.

Also most def tweaked a floating rib or muscle during last deadlift session, so paying the piper for that one still.

Why I do this to myself always amazes me :happy2:

Ohh that rib sucks... bummer man. Took me a month or so for that to stop hurting.

Right! I crushed my arms today. I did bench to fail, standing bicep curls with ez bar to fail and dips to fail. Arms def feel great but I'll have to edit later and put the info up. Getting ready for my wedding but had to do something to settle the nerves this morning.

Gotta remember this also, muscles aren't built in the gym, they're built in the kitchen.

My bench max was 170, 3 years ago. I haven't maxed lately but it's well in the 300s now.

Horse spit! I eat like mofo & as the mad man in Alaska says, I am soft as a marshmellow. I don't lift though. So while nutrition ultimately helps, you still have to pick up heavy things & put them back down. LOL

DISCLAIMER: posted sarcastically. But muscles do require them to be worked to grow. All but the jaw muscles will suffer from eating alone. Haha

^you can workout all you want, but growth will be limited by calorie intake. Eat big to get big.

This is the hardest point to get across to new lifters. They always make it 90% gym 10% diet. It's the other way around!

Genetics are different for everybody though. I person like me has to force feed 4500 cals a day to get good growth. My buddy doesn't have to do that. He eats regular, but he's also 300lbs whereas I'm naturally in the 160 range. Your metabolic rate will every from person to person.

I know you were being sarcastic, but my statement holds true.

Anyone ever dealt with either a broken/cracked floating rib or muscle strain back there?

Haven't been without soreness for a few weeks now, it isn't a tear or break IMO cause its not a sharp pain nor was there bruising. Just a damn annoying dull ache. I can squat without pain etc but it just doesn't wanna go away. Giving it another week of NSAIDs and icing.

Moral of story, if you lack a midsection make damn sure your belt is lower than your lowest floater.

Matt, I popped mine out of the fascia... I had to go to a fascia specialist to get it popped back in a few times until the fascia healed. It took a month or so to get it feeling better again. Probably 2 months before I could go full bore with a belt.

How did that feel prior to getting it popped back in? I feel like its not anywhere near the level of pain that would scream something serious happened but the fact that its still a dull ache has me starting to worry.

Dull ache that would change to a sharper pain if I squished that area with a belt. I will ask my wife what the doctor's title was I went to. There are not many in the country, this guy is one of the best and does a lot of seminars for other doctors.

When he would put it back in place, I could feel it pop. He said it would take a while to heal the fascia back up so it would stop popping out.

I caused mine coming out of the hole with 385. I was tired and folded a bit half way up and pinched that lower left rib out with the top of my belt.

Ok, when the gf presses on my back it doesn't get any worse.

You get an xray to show damage?

Nope, he could feel it through the skin... Presto bam o he popped it back in, had to have it done a couple times until it stayed put for good.

How does it feel when you where your belt? That is the only time mine would hurt, at the bottom of a squat when I was braced hard against the belt.

Felt fine with belt on, thats what has me perplexed.
