Back is tight but feels okay-ish...

Bench day
warm up very carefully:D
Dynamic stretching
bar for 12
135x2x15-12

185x10
225x6
275x3
295x3
317x6x2 Probably could have done the 3x3 but didn't have a spotter today and didn't want to have a failed set. Pretty happy with 12 solid reps at 317.

Tried some back work to see how it felt.
Dumb bell row
90x12 Right side was no problem at all, got to rep 6 on the left and felt the twinge again... Stopped there, good news is, it's for sure a muscle and not a disc (left spinal erector). I wasn't sure at first. Bad news is I probably will have to skip Deads this friday... Meets is close, so not sure how well I will do squatting and Deadlifting?
Did some light seated military press
50x12
60x10
70x3
Wide grip pull ups
3x8

Don't hurt yourself over a meet man. Take it easy and do what u can come back harder next time

No worries, it's forsure a pulled muscle, big relief... At first I wasn't really sure, it didn't feel like a normal pull, but now it does. If anything I will do a layup squat and let the big dog eat on the bench press and another layup deadlift.

I do this for fun and health so I won't be wrecking myself for a meet. I train extremely hard for a old guy and injuries are part of it. Just need to limit them... Last injury was the shoulder 1.5 years ago so I was due I guess.

Appreciate the concern:hug:

Well Im a little more in tune with myself but I still do stupid sh*t lol.... It doesn't hurt to have a buddy watching your back, even if your on a forum. It's one of the reasons I started this thread, log my workouts, take advice, maybe give a little advice, encourage others & have fun with my fitness journey:thumb:

Finally made it back to the gym today after walking out Monday. Focused on stretching my lower back good then did some light acc work.

Ran 2 miles then did some core work.. Maybe I can at least maintain my size I've worked so hard for then later if my back ever heals I'll start training harder.

Jason, Sorry your having a shitty time right now, that truly sucks. I'm with Matt on find something to burry yourself in, you gotta have an outlet... Exercise, good foods, & lots of rest... I can completely forget about everything for a couple hours at the Gym, it's good therapy for me:thumb:

It sounds like to you, the wheels are falling off in every way. As much as you or anybody probably doesn't want to, you need to see a Therapist. It doesn't mean your crazy at least not anymore than you normally are:hug::D They can help you dig out the issues that are bothering you the most and teach how to deal with them constructively instead of letting them wreck you.

As for supps. I like to use Sunflower Lecithin for the Central Nervous System. Omega 3 fatty acids like fish oil, Chia seeds (flax seeds on crack) are good for joint health. I also use Glucosamine for joint health but I'm getting older and need all the help I can get;)

Shakeology is a very good source of nutrients, I have used it off and on with excellent results (not much of a veggie eater)... If your interested and want to no more about it and how to get it PM me.
Thanks Albert, I will be in touch soon

x2 on the therapy.... My girl and I have been seeing a couples therapist for 3 months or so really really helping out. Health is the most important thing to have never be ashamed or feel to manly to get help.

There is so much info out there, but you don't need it to start taking some steps in the right direction. Here is my favorite summary of fitness, it is "world class fitness" by Greg Glassman:

Thanks gents
:)

Therapy can be a good option
I see no weakness in seeking help or admitting and acknowledging when and where a person may have struggles, and to me, taking measures to overcome those struggles is a sign of strength...an action that ONLY demonstrates a persons fortitude and will to succeed...hiding from a challenge and or personal strife/challenge is a significantly weaker action/mindset than taking an issue head on and facilitating change

I did start a therapy class 2wks ago, it does help in many ways, this therapist is alternating my therapy between private and group sessions. Group sessions can be tricky, and revealing at the same time...but its good for me nonetheless

Screw it, I'm calling a spine specialist today and getting a 2nd opinion on my back. Not really sure how to explain it, certain seating positions have a constant pain to them. I can't drive the wife's car without a constant painin my left leg.
