Prescription cyclobenzaprene and naproxen are life savers. Just don't take the cyclo unless you are going to bed, it will knock your ass out.

I was dead set against taking stuff for my back pain, until I hurt it to the point I couldn't go up the stairs. One week of daily muscle relaxers and anti inflammatories and I was good as new.

Squats last night felt good
135x10
185x5
225x3
265x5
275 3x4
205x10 pause at the bottom.

Deads
275x10
275x8
275x6
275x4

Would be interested to see what my deadlift max is now, but we only have 275 on the ship.

Just stepped on the scale, whopping 170.5lbs.

It's no joke. Cyclobenzaprene is great coupled with a deload week. Glad you are feeling better. I think it may be time for your to buy some iron to put on the ship.:thumb:

Time to invest in some weightlifting shoes... Opinions between the adidas (175$) or the Nike's (189$)...

I can't weigh in on those since I have the reeboks because they were cheap, but I can say I don't like the thick pad behind your heel in them. It's too soft and my foot moves on cleans and jerks unless they are torqued down hard. The strap across the laces helps with that though.

Nike Romaleo II's are what I have. I absolutely love these shoes, one of the best investments In lifting gear I have ever made:thumb: The Nike runs a touch big so 1/2 size down from your regular gym or running shoes. You want them to fit really snug almost uncomfortable...

I have a buddy that loves the Adipower weight lifters. I think they are a touch more money 220 ish IIRC. He said he went down a half size from his normal running shoe with those as well.

How's the training been coming Nick?

No joke!

Squats today. Finally getting back to the tough stuff.
MR10 at 280, got them all. Actually miscounted and did 11 again. Rather 11 than 9....
Then 10x3 at 270.

Going back tonight for DL and a WOD tonight. Didn't have time for deads over lunch. Candito doesn't program much in the way of deadlift weights, just rep ranges. Albert, what have you been running there?

I'm doing about the same percentage of DL as squat. Just trying to do what I can still do fast, but heavy for the reps prescribed. Doing lots of deficit pulls from 2.5" up because that is what I have to stand on at the warehouse.

On the dead acc. days I would go heavy for 4x6-10 straight leg. Sometimes from a deficit as well. Straight leg really translate well into the deadlift:thumb:

That is great stuff. One of the biggest things I have found about squats and deads is that I can actually do alot more than I think I can do. For example, 225x10 feels hard as crap, but I can and have done 255x10, which felt only marginally heavier. So keep throwing the weights on and you will make your goals.

This. 70% 1RM and higher FEELS heavy. The difference is if you pick it up or let it be heavy. Don't let it be.

Looks good, depth is nice and IPF legal:thumb:. I didn't notice your feet doing anything abnormal unless you were concentrating on not doing it?

Some good shoes like the Weightlifting ones we were talking about earlier will make a world of difference. A nice solid platform to squat from & being comfortable are very important.

Finally been going back steady for a while now. Oddly enough flat bench aggravates an old shoulder injury real bad but luckily nothing else seems to bother it. Hopefully I'll be able to keep going steady and get back to where I was years ago.

Today

Decline
185 x 20 x 1
225 x 10 x 2
275 x 5 x 2

Incline
185 x 10 x 2
205 x 6 x 1
225 x 4 x 2

My back is 90% better today. Was actually able to bend over this morning. Been working core extra and intend to keep doing that.
