Proudly can claim to be that guy who scours the gym looking for a decent bar to squat with every workout :D Cannot stand lifting with no center knurling to dig into my back. Makes for a slippery worrisome workout if there is no knurling.

Did you ever get your max numbers? And how long did you follow through on Candito?
Still on Candito but feeling under the weather. Youngest had strep the other day, crossing fingers I'm not getting it. Been absolutely exhausted last few days so haven't been able to continue. I'm on week 4. Prior to starting max numbers were bench 210, squat 225, dead 230. I'm not trying to cap myself but just need to have a goal to work towards.
Depends on your max now. For me it was much easier to DL heavy than squat. Do you pull sumo or conventional?
Conventional...I've pulled sumo twice and pretty sure my form is horrible. Used light weights to try and avoid injury

I should add reason I ask is I don't know when the beginner gains cease and it becomes a struggle to start adding pounds to lifts like I am now

Sumo should be easier on your back. ROM is less and youre more upright. It can be tough without enough hip mobility, but I like it more and can move more weight. I setup with my pinky toe on the ring with feet pointed out approx 120*, not having feet angled enough will make it difficult.

With that program you wont stop with gains. Every run through you should add 10-15 to your max. Im doing sets with what used to be my 1rm 6 months prior. If you can do a few rounds of Candito or another peaking program you should hit your 300 goal this year no problem.

As long as you are eating and sleeping in excess, you should continue to make n00b gains.

As Matt and Chris mentioned, you gotta eat and sleep. You don't build muscle at the gym, you do when you sleep (min 6-8 hours)

Brock, my guess is your outside life is a bit hectic and it will slow your progress in the gym. It happens to all of us. If I had a terrible few days and missed lifts, reps or sets I usually just start that week back over. It will take several years of steady gym time to slow your noob gains. I still make them on some of the neglected muscles. Way back at the beginning of this thread I talked with Mick over in Aussie land. He told me it will come to a point when you will train all year just to put 5kg on your total and be pumped you got that:eek:

Have you gone to see a Doctor yet Corbin?

Feeling better just no appetite really.. actually at the dr right now. Little one got sent home from daycare with a fever so I've gotta take her to the doctor to see what's up.

20 weeks and counting without touching a weight, haha.

Still got abs and veins though, so I'm ok with that I guess.

I sleep close to 8 hrs a night and I eat as much as I can, work is hard to eat enough as I'm a salesman so I do what I can but I've added a few lbs in the last month or 2 so that's a plus I guess.

I just know I've heard it takes a while to hit that plateau where you don't make the big jumps anymore, just wasn't sure where or when that happened.
Y'all have a good Valentine's Day! Treat your lady right fellas
Bought mine a bosu ball and got me a lacrosse ball to help me roll out some. She was so excited over the bosu ball.

Went and did squats at lunch.
5 min rowing like a pissed off teenager trying to prove something lol. Some stretching and getting loosey goosey.
Squats. Bar x12, bar x10, 95 x10, 135 x8, 155 x5, 175 x3, 195 x1, 200 x3, 205 x3, 210x3, then back to 135 x12 to burn em out...fuggin cheap gym belt is a velcro and every time I hit the hole and went to come up the belt would pop loose and I'd have to focus like hell not to wiggle. Good news is my core is getting some hella good training and I don't hate it. Will be buying a belt I discussed with Alberta round xmas...will be much better. And I'll add a pic in a sec of the up and comers lol

I'll put a bow on it for her.

Just one more day of deload after today.

Hit a slew of C&J singles at 235 working on split jerk foot position. I wanted to throw on two more blues and get some work in so bad, but I've been having trouble landing anything without a split. My shoulders are torched, but I've never been better a pullups than I am right now. It's a balancing act....

15 minutes to hit a heavy single bench. We did 7 attempts max. Hit 285 and had more left.

5 Rounds:
5 185 Push jerks (axle bar)
10 burpees

Got my wife a bosu ball for Valentine's day. Being she is 6 months pregnant she wanted something we could all use and she could use at home after the baby is born. Tonight we showed the boys a few things. My 6 yr old did 40 some pushups with pretty good form. Wish the camera was faster but you get the idea.20170214_201323.jpg20170214_201315.jpg

You won't hit that plateau on Candito... Not for a long long time, like a year++ non stop.

Good on ya teaching the kids young. I wish someone was around to teach me the importance of health and strength when I was younger. Instead I learned all the ways to no get healthy and strong on my way to getting healthier and stronger, Ha!
