i dislike them and really have no need for them.. plus i can throw/bind chains faster with non-ratchet then i can with ratchet and the levers take up less space as well

I agree the lever type binders are a little faster, but I like the ratchet style better. I've used both quite a bit, and I think it is easier to get the chains really tight with the ratchet binders.

We're talking about two different styles of binders that are both used with chains. I do think the ratchet binders are better for tying down a car if you run the chains so the suspension is being compressed.

if i was running 3/8 or 1/2" chains i would run ratchet... running 5/16 4700lb chains, ratchet is just overkill.. been running 2" 3333lb ratchet straps looking as swapping out to 3" 5400lb ratchet straps... 2 straps would legally secure 75% of my straped loads vs having to throw 3-5 2" but they are 40.00 each vs 13.00ea
3 chains 5 binders 9,000lbs 4300/6500/12200=23000lb

i remeber seeing online here somewhere quick ratchet binders i couldn't believe how fast they were it cut tie down time in half....now i gotta go lookin...

Northerntool has some called Quick binders that are nice, but I don't know that they're any faster. They're yellow with black rubber on the turnbuckle and the handle it offset. Really nice while tieing down in the rain and mud. The ends don't unscrew though so if your load shifts and can't get enough slack in them your going to have to get creative.

new axles some where between milwalkee wi to cheasapeke and these three loads i either tweaked or bent both axles.. i lost a hub as i was pulling into my drive thursday night... no more bastard one-off propietary axles from kaufman.. full blown off the self common 8,000lb axles..

Already got some use towing my buddies Mustang from the track after he snapped his input shaft.

talking about this? i picked it up at DACS in portsmouth VA the yellowstuff is fiberglass insulation of some type... i dropped it of at URB in ephrata PA didnt really asked what it was specifically used for... my gues would be insulated roofing/wall covering of some sort

Yes. If it is, its used in high-rise buildings as the flooring. It is laid across steel I-beams with re-bar and cement poured over it. Kinda hard to tell from the blurry picture.
