Disageree strongly, the new f150's big deep round wheel wells look like shit. A square wheel well when sized properly will allow less interference when suspension is under compression if GM would make the wheel wells wider front to rear and they would eleminate the rubbing of tires in turn, a truck is naturally boxy so a round wheel well stands out to much for me I like the strong chisled look a square wheel well brings.

Y'all gonna start bitching about IFS now???

I lost you after F-150 :D

How bout the Superpoopies?? Round wheel wells on a boxy truck...

Since we went to GM in 2002 I have been addicted to them, no one in my opinion is making better products and our trucks have been amazing.

To each their own I guess. I think it looks dumb and anyone running big tires can attest to the PIA fitment issue.
I got around it by installing Bushwacker cutouts right from day one on my '07 and a 6" lift. Much better looking IMO.

For as many things as Ford got wrong, I could fit 35s on a stock F250 and offroad with them. Try that on a 2500. If only ford could figure out how to make an engine after the 7.3

Yes, because that's how I drew them when I was 5 years old...

So what your saying is that you at 5 had a better grasp on style and vehicle looks and functionality than a GM engineer? :D :roflmao:

Nope, I'm saying that when I was 5, I thought the fender opening had to be round because the tire is round. Now I know it doesn't matter, and that, depending on the shape of the vehicle, a more square opening sometimes looks better. With the angular look of our trucks, I thing a round wheel opening would look dumb, but that's just my opinion. FWIW, the shape has nothing to do with the tires rubbing.

No your right, the size of the opening does.

But look at a lifted truck. It looks Sofa King Re Ta Did IMO with 4" between the front and rear of the tire and the fender and 12" between the top of the tire and fender. Just doesn't look right to me.

Maybe if it was a little less square, more rectangular, and flare the tops a bit it would be better looking-kinda like the '70's/'80's trucks.

I mean, nobody can argue the pics I posted of the early '70's GMC and a new one that the old models just fit the look of a big tire better. Maybe those of you running the stock sized pensioners don't notice it as much. :D
I will say I don't notice it so much on my '09 2500HD with the 265 tires, but the rubbing on the mudflap is starting to drive me!!:gaybow:

Enough on the square gayness. In the end it's just a matter of opinion on looks moreso than function I guess. :beatdeadhorse:

Yes, I understand what you're saying. I think the LMM body style trucks are 10 times worse about the height of the opening. I think they make them so tall so they look like they sit higher, sort of trick the eye because there is so much room above the top of the tire. I guess it all goes back to the problem of lifted trucks being :gay: :poke:

Are you all really arguing about wheel well shape? Shouldnt there be more uproar about the price of the truck?
Id love to own a new truck if I could afford it, but 60K for a crew cab shortbox is just stupid. GM's legacy costs are ridiculous.

Don't forget the unions.
Had a few fire hydrants get knocked over here lately and when the city sends out the crew; there are 4 managers and one dumbshit that has to put on his rubbers to turn the valve off. The 4 managers are all bullshitting and laughing while this goes on. Tell me why those 4 union f___s were there. The local fire department also shows up with a couple of trucks and the guys stand there discussing their tats.

I literally may not ever be able to afford a 5year old truck again (how old my 02 was when i bought it for $18k), much less a new truck. I knew a guy whk bought a brand new 07.5 ccsb 2500hd d/a 4wd ls optioned truck for $36.5k out the door. You can't buy that same setup in a half ton gaser for that anymore. Same setup in a 12/13 model is over $55k. Ltz or Denalis are even more. That is unimaginable to me. Just unreal!! You can get HIGH END luxury cars (MB, caddy, bmw, lexus, audi, vette, etc) for that kinda money. You know how I know you're wealthy? You drive a fuggin $50k+ TRUCK!!! LOL
