I bet they wouldnt. ;) There's something to be said for corporate greed.

Exactly...The "trucks" we drive are no longer "trucks"...Back up cameras, Bluetooth and whatever other bull$hit you guys have...Are prices ridiculous? Yes...But you're driving a "car" that has 400 HP, 800 TQ to tow whatever stupid long ugly toy hauler you have...Pay to play...

My views pretty much mirror JoshH's on the wheel opening design and the reasoning behind them.

As for lifted trucks, I would not own one.

Not everyone needs a lifted truck. In my line of work, it's almost a must. My '09 company truck isn't lifted and I drag bottom on every lease road I go into especially if I'm loaded and really beat up the bottom side. Surprised I haven't completely broke the crossmember off-it currently is bent!!
The IFS really causes issues for me with the low frame but the ride and the fact I don't have to drive a Dodge or Ford makes it worthwhile. The lift and bigger tires fixes the issue. I agree it's not for everyone or the pavement princesses!

I can understand that.

I've had my "pavement princess" in the fields plenty of times and this past week it was in the mountain everyday. I'll admit I didn't really like having my own truck in the woods.

Ya it used to hurt but after the first 40 rock chips not so much anymore. When it makes you a couple hundred bucks everyday just parked on location not even moving for weeks at a time that eases the pain some as well!!
This pic was after the Cat worked the lease. There was 2 more feet of mud on there when I pulled on! 10mile long lease road had 16"+ deep ruts.

If I got that kind of pay for using my own truck, I would buy a NBS truck with the extra pay to keep nice and use my current one on the job. I don't blame you for using your own truck.

That location looks like a mess. It reminds me of the Marcellus Drilling going on up north.

I see a stock size tire F150 front and center in that pic, and it doesn't look like it has a chain attached to the front of it so it can get drug around... :poke:

You can see the spin marks from the Ford. He tried to leave, that's as far as he got. Was waiting on the hoe when I took the pic. He came out there three days before the rain. After he got out he parked at the lease entrance.
I was stuck to the right out of the pic. Buried to the steps with my 6" lift- I found the ruts from the Commander bedtruck that was out there earlier! Otherwise I could get around location fine.
The vac truck in the back had super single swamp tires on the rear and still needed to be catted out of the corner from the water tanks. It was ugly.

Actually I was on my way to getting an RCLB for work and pulling my LBZ out of the field when it blew up. And I'm in the middle of building a shop, putting the ol lady through school, you know how it is.
Now I'm running a company truck and back to being an employee so likely it won't see much field work anymore.

Don't forget the unions.
Had a few fire hydrants get knocked over here lately and when the city sends out the crew; there are 4 managers and one dumbshit that has to put on his rubbers to turn the valve off. The 4 managers are all bullshitting and laughing while this goes on. Tell me why those 4 union f___s were there. The local fire department also shows up with a couple of trucks and the guys stand there discussing their tats.

The only union guy is the guy with the rubbers on? :joker:
