?

Im 4 hours away, I have no idea. I was told over the phone that the engine has a tick and the first thing that came to Dans mind was a cracked flexplate. He said they can drop the trans and check it out or 99% sure it will be going to Mikes to have him check out/change the converter from the 1057 for the twins, add c3 oiler, fluid flush and a few other things.

The starting "issue" that I had was solved by applying power directly to the starter. So the vehicle works, its just supply power to it in the correct way. A single optima along with the wiring and battery location was not doing it apparently, and they are now changing things around to make sure that it will. Their opinion was the system would best function on a single battery if it was closer to the starter, therefore I believe they will be putting the single battery back under the hood somewhere.

Im going to call down today and get an update.

So the short answer is yes...

Actualy the answer is no. The further you move a battery away from the starter the bigger the cable has to be. The cable was to small. I did a twin kit on an 2010 and had to install the battery on the driver side frame rail behind the torsion bar crossmember because of electric steps. I had to use much bigger cable.

I asked it the problem was the battery. The answer is yes. I am not talking about quality of battery. I was wondering if there were/are any other problems causing the no start issue. I do not doubt the farther you move the battery the larger wire it needs as this is true with all things electrical (that is why I have gigantic cords for welders). Just hoping this is the only thing keeping Matt's truck from running as it is long overdue.

i put my battery on the inside of the frame and almost at the rear axle when i had my twins on.

the way i understand the size of the cable is not as important as the number of stands it has. the more stands the better because the electrons flow on the outside of the wire not through it, so the more surface area the electrons have the more juice can flow through it.

But a bigger cable with the same sized strands is obviously going to have more surface area. In any event I hope that one simple thing is all thats keeping a So Cal Diesel built truck with big nasty twins off the street!

Wait...Back the horse up...lol

You currently are running 1 battery on the frame rail wired in where the pass battery typically sits???

And you have no driver side battery???

Or am I missing something...

If you only have a pass side battery and no driver side battery, you will prolly have tougher time starting...

When running 1 battery it needs to be the driver side and use tge driver side wiring or it will not start by the key.

X2 this is what I am saying.

I thought he had a batt over there, and just relocated the pass batt. Now when you read the thread, it sounds like he only has a pass side batt.....

If he dose have a drivers side batt, is it good???

Could have swore I asked this long time ago lol.

Welding cable is the best!

I wish someone would of told me about this whole ds ps side battery stuff now my truck isn't going to start next time:rofl:

If I was matt I would put it back under the hood though just because of the nhrda rules

As Russ stated, there is/was 1 battery in a GM Frame Mount on the drivers side between the 2 doors. The Drivers side batt wiring was rerouted back there, as well as (some) of the passenger battery wiring.

All wiring is getting tied together to 1 battery, which is being moved from the frame mount to under the hood somewhere.

I did not talk to PPE yesterday, so Ill have an updated Monday unless I text Dan later this weekend.

I miss my truck :(
