Mine starts and runs just fine on one battery. If Im in a hurry and its cold enough for the glow plugs to kick on, and I try to jump in and start, my clock will reset...But it turns over just fine and runs normal.

Driver side battery only.

All I know is that the wiring to the Brand new Optima Red Top I bought for the truck and installed in the drivers side military frame mount said 4 AWG going to it. The 3 techs at PPE all said the same thing (individually I might add, as they were looking at my truck 1 on 1 with me ) about the battery.

Seems like the decision has been made to move the battery back into the engine bay and rerun new HD wiring. For one, this will put be back in a racing class I was excluded from that stated the battery had to be forward of the firewall. There wont be an issue now - PPE is doing a custom overflow reservoir along with some other things that they are having to move around now to fit in with the battery, but Im leaving that all up to them. They know what they are doing.

They are also doing some custom wheel well liners for me, the coolant reservoir as mentioned, wrapping some pipes, and adding another mount to the big turbo. "Huge shakes" from the GT47 when they started it - I guess there is only 1 external mount for the turbo.

More updates as I get them, thanks for the support guys.

So what I am asking is even if your battery was messed up wouldn't your truck run? And heep I fail at the phone. I didn't put a space and it auto corrected me.

Optimas are junk I ran them in my racecar and they always failed. There are only 2 battery manufacturers in the world an I've never had any problems to zero degrees f with one battery. I think you have other issues cause Russ is a meticulous bastard and I dont think he would would mess anything up that bad but shit does happen. In other words I hope you get your rig on the road.

We had red tops in our race cars and in several of our dmaxes. After I lost a couple of races because two optimas didn't have enough juice to shift we swapped to one oddessy and haven't had a problem. You could tell a big difference just in the way the motor cranked over. And that was charging between every run. With the oddessy we usually put it on to charge every third pass or so just in case. If you ever try something better you won't go back believe me.

So it was just the battery that was the problem? And did you find out if you have a cracked flex plate?
