I agree with paint. If you can't afford or don't want to build it right, just put a stock engine back in it. Good luck with whatever route you chose.

I'm thinking about doing the same. Problem is there aren't that many low mileage stockers around north of the border and shipping is a killer.

Mike's is a stock engine. Blown motor or not, he still likes the big tunes and still likes his burnouts :D

so, i have a good relationship with the sales manager where i got my truck. called him up, told him about my truck. he talked to the service manager. long story short, they are going to try and get it warrentied. even if they tear into it and end up not being able take care of it under warrenty, it won't cost me any money. its worth a shot!!

so i finally really got under my truck and did a thorough job looking around. didn't remove anything, just looked. found oil coming out of my downpipe, and leaking off of my oil filter housing. cant tell where its coming from. kinda looks like the gasket is leaking.? oil is dripping off the gasket tab. hard to tell if its coming from above and running down it. too much stuff in the way

oh ya, there was condensation in my oil filler cap when i took it off just now.

Still sounds like hole in piston, good luck with the dealer. I know I am running on borrowed time with my LBZ, but I keep borrowing :D Hopefully I can get it paid off before the motor goes.

Did you look at your valve covers? They could be leaking and running down the block onto the oil cooler etc.

ya, i didn't see anything, but i also left the inner fenderwells on, so i couldn't see everything.

im putting everything to stock except my lift pump. kinda stuck with that. intake, exhaust, blocker plate, tunes. gonna just run my current ecm and tcm and chance the pump. they already know everything i have done to it and are aware of the 99% chance of holes in 5 and 6. they just want it as stock as possible just in case.

just found this thread.

Good luck on getting it covered. Some dealers are better then others as far as warranty goes.

If you do end up needing the motor i have for sale - the price is $3200 without shipping ... and i will deliver it. I also have a cherry picker i can loan out if need be.

If you don't buy the motor and need a cherry picker let me know. you can use mine ....

i have had a lot of calls on the motor and felt i had it sold in the first 2 days ... not the case.

just let me know if i can help in any way ...
