Resistor pack or the selector. Generally only high means the resistor pack died.

My wife's Colorado eats resistor packs like candy. It's common in those as well but something is causing too much amperage to be drawn through the wires. It will melt the plug after the 3 rd resistor pack. I get 6 months out of pack and can't find the bottle neck.

James, wheres the resistor pack located on an 01-02 like ours?

What's it supposed to do? My 01 suburban has one

It is the cabin air temp sensor. I had my headliner replaced and they forgot to hook it back up. defrost would only blow hot if turned all the way up. If set one degree below 90 it would blow straight cold air.

Gotcha.. it's got that computer controlled climate control front and rear.. it doesn't work right all the time.. had it lock full hot with temp on full cold..

Temps have started routinely getting down to freezing and calling for lows in the teens & high around 20*F tomorrow. Well, it's all my batteries want starting my truck when it's near freezing leaving work so I replaced them tonight. Had a set of AutoCraft Titaniums on it dated 10/07! Can't ask for any better than that so I went back with them again. Except Advanced Auto no longer carries the Titanium series so it got Golds w/ 3-yr full replacement warranty. $296.78 later & we were back making magic happen again. :woott:

Engaged the elevated idle on my truck and it's about 20° and she suprised me, down to one interstate battery and start it once a week and she cranks slow but cracked right over with no drama.

Let it go into elevated idle today...got in and it smells like something is burning. More so like electrical getting hot. Never notice when it's not in elevated idle. Why is it when crap goes wrong and you gotta hunt down an issue it's cold as fuk

I don't mind the cold. It's relatively as cold outside now as it is inside my house in summer time. :spit:

High idled mine for 15 mins and drive for 5 mins to gel and get stranded. Power stroke came to the rescue. Towed me home and pushed it in the garage. I pumped 10 gallons of #1 and 10 gallons #2 and added Howes a couple days before it gelled.

I have only ran mine I haven't drove it of course. It must get really cold where some of you guys are. Howes usually does the trick for gelling here.

I like the high idle but my truck still won't warm up just idling. I even blocked over half the airflow of the intercooler and radiator with cardboard and it still won't get over like 165 just idling.
