Finally got some time to de-ugly the truck enough to post pics
Pulled the ugly cheap step bars off, ditched the broken accordion mirrors, pulled the broken factory exhaust off and put on a no-name eBay kit. Had to get a little custom because it fit and looked like total ass. Nothing a little creativity and welder couldn't fix.

Finally fixed my front end. New ball joints, UCAs, pitman arm, idler arm & bracket, and all new poly bushings. Gonna get it aligned today and take it camping this weekend to see how it does. And maybe lay off the 4x4 boost launches a bit so I'm not doing more front end work immediately :baby:

Swapped the stock airdog fuel filter to the CAT filter and replaced the water/fuel separator since it was original from 09, changed engine oil when I put the new engine oil cooler on, trimmed the skid plate for more air to the cooler, replaced an upper ball joint and inner tie rod (love Napa warranties), went over the whole front end and lubed it as well, and just awaiting my Trans cooler from Mike to put on. Then off to cooler temps this weekend

Sent some dimensions and pictures of the Duramax engine's filter mount to have a prototype hi flow sandwich plate manufactured so no modifications needed after you purchase one, it's a few weeks out...

The company also purchased an Earls 503 to make some comparisons to, their thoughts on the Earls, pretty anemic...

The 503, according to super diesel is more than plenty with a smidge of work needed. I don't understand why you would want to reinvent the wheel.

TX of course
Trusted my wife with truck for the week while her Tahoe is in the shop. Hopefully she doesn't do anymore "custom" body work to it this time.

Finally got the fuel gauge fixed and figured out why it quit working. Ordered a sending unit from Summit Racing. Also got a stainless steel brake line set in as well. Took the bed off in less than 30 minutes, it was easier for me to do by myself and be able to drive truck home and back to work to do brake lines tomorrow or next day.

Replaced the CP3. not as bad as some would have you believe. I nicked the rubber hose going from the tank to the FICM, bout drove me nuts trying to figure out why i couldn't get it to prime.

Guess it has been bad since I bought her.Now runs like a top. 7yo thinks its a race truck. Told me on the way to the first day of first grade " Wind it up Daddy"-- Momma was not happy! ;)

I wanna go fast, I wanna go fast.
My wife gets all but hurt when my boys tell her she drives slower than daddy. I just smile, and it's not because I drive any faster than she does. She goes through some dam tires.

I just finished replacing a water pump on an lly. It was previously replaced by quite possibly the stupidest person to ever pick up a wrench. Fan clutch and water pump bolts glued on by what appears to be green retaining compound loctite. Fan clutch nut almost chiseled in half, a broken swivel and a stripped ratchet later it's done.
